There's still a ways to go before the playoffs. Hockey is one of the real sports where the atheleates(sp) actually earn their $$$, unlike football or baseball. Most of the players don't even make over a mil a year. Don't get me wrong there are some that do, but majority don't.

I bet you 100 dollars the stars will make the playoffs. Also another reason they dont make so much cause not as many people watch it like football and baseball. I think T.V. rating is like so. Football, basketball, baseball, Hockey :cool:

That and the new salary cap doesn't help much. However, I wasn't the one making any bets on if the stars will/will not make the playoffs.

Wow...where to start.

Most players make 1 milion or more but not much more than that. (That is after the 24% rollback and the 15% escrow).

Frankly, I think the Stars are capable of beating any team out there this year. The have what it takes to get the cup, or at least to the finals if they want to. It is just a matter of staying determined, no injuries and a little luck.

I agree they work there asses off and dont get paid as much as other sports. I think if we keep it going like we are well will definatly get in the playoffs and get pretty far at that. I just enjoy hockey the most because it is constant motion. The puck stops the clock stops, very fast paced. Anyways lets just watch and see.

I dont think they have what it takes to win the cup at this point.... we would need another good 40+ goal scorer on the team (since Guerin isnt getting it done) and another D man that can play 20 + mins a game and that is physical as well. We dont have that physical play that Hatcher would bring.... thats the only thing he was good for was knockin the shit out of people... he couldnt shoot, he couldnt make plays with the puck, he constantly caused turnovers. ugggh ! Im glad he is gone. I am sure he would be a penalty leader now and cause us to lose games for being short handed. I wish Chris Therien was still here. He was a decent D man, but was Physical. Zubov is great, Daley is getting the job done and the others....eh they are ok.

I think of Zubov as more of a king these days. He's awesome at his job.

Granted, I think the man should shoot more often than pass. He is a smart player. Its funny because I can tell you about how he does things in practice. When they practice at AAC (before they were open practices) or back in Reunion he used to smoke on the bench.... it was funny because seeing him do that then put it on his ear and go do a shift and then come back to the bench and take a drag was just comical. I always imagine when he does the shoot out that he will light one up and take a drag go up and shoot and score and before the goalie knows what happened he has the cigg back in his mouth, He is lethal at the shootout, he has been stopped once. Amazing skills !! :eek:

I agree with the zubov statement he is an amazing player that needs to shoot more. Yeah I also think what is holding us back is the lack of guerin and the others not getting any goals if we can throw that in the mix we would be a priemier team. I think a few of are games have been luck so far but a win is a win. I would just like to see us step it up in a couple areas and we will be tuff to beat. All in all its still very entertaining.

We did beat Ottawa ! That was a great game.... however, we couldnt beat Buffalo ? come on..... I can tell you that was because they had a hot goalie that night.... Ottawa was missing key players and Emery isnt that great, but he has been what they needed in a back up.
