damn, why is it so hard to get started working out once youve stopped, hell, I have been working out off and on for years, never for more than 3 or 4 months straight, I finally get some results, and I stop, knowing damn well how much work its takes to get there, one day off turns into 3 and so on, at this point I just cant seem to get motivated.....any one else have this problem or have some advice?

Just quit taking breaks from it. I did the same thing for years then I started back a couple of years ago and only took one real break from it for about 2 months then back even harder starting about 2 months ago. Watch for the gains, and changes that you see for the motivation to keep going.
Other advice would be to get a good partner that will not let you skip workouts or stop all together. Get one that will talk lots of shit if you slack, or stop!

I suppose your right about getting a partner, just so hard to even get motivated to start again, so weak, so tired, no results for a month of so.......

just develop a disorder like bigorexia and then you'll never be happy with what you've got.

I moved out of our apartment this past friday so I haven't been able to work out. I'm just gonna have to start doing pushups and sh!t at my parents house until I move out again in a few weeks. :(

Can't you still work out at TCC for free?

This week only. Then I think the gym closes for winter. I hate working out there anyways. You have to get a damn wristband, lots of people, not many machines. Just a PITA more than anything.

I know how you feel...I was in darned good overall shape. Now I've put on 20-30 pounds of lard..and lost muscle. Gonna be forced to do nothing but run for a few months when/if I ever start again. Turning into a lazy ass sucks.

I had the same problem. I do well in the winter, but the summer I always found an excuse not to go. So I cancelled the Bally's membership and bought a home gym. Now I shopuld be able to work out mre frequently, without the people to wait on, plus don't have to travel to get there anymore. I don't see why i can't drag myself to the next room and workout for an hour a day.

I know the feeling. I had a membership at a local place last spring and then it ended at the start of summer. I decided to not renew for the summer, and come the end of Sept when I got started again, I had gained weight back. I've been going a lot this semester and has toned somewhat, but now my membership ends this week and I won't be renewing since I'm moving, but won't be able to start working out somewhere again till Jan. :(

I'm just the opposite. Winter is the time for Thanksgiving, Halloween parties, xmas parties, New Years, and the cold weather means lots of clothes to hide the growing waistline ('cept for soaks in the hot tub). As soon as it starts warming up I begin to realize that wakeboarding season and party cove is around the corner, and I'm gonna be half naked for most of the next 4 or 5 months. The diet gets cleaned up, alcohol is minimized, I step up the ab work, and I jog in the mornings that it's warm enough.
Right now I'm getting fat and happy, looking forward to the holidays. :)
