I work closer than that. :D I don't really have a choice though. If I need to do something I either suck it up or stay home and wait for another day.

Fuck no. I'm not getting off from work until 11pm tonight (came in at 10am) and I work 33 miles away from home (one way). Just to damn cold. So I caged it and got to enjoy the XM Radio and a cigarette on the way in :)

I did the only having a bike thing for 2 years, and it wasn't bad. I remember going to work from NRH, to Irving, flying down 183 doing about 120, at 6am, snot frozen to my face :D Its not that bad. But then again, i snow ski in shorts

Saturday I was able to get the odo up to a whopping 300 miles. It was a little chilly riding home aroung midnight, so I stayed on 4 wheels yesterday.

Anyone riding 635 east out in garland keep any eye out for my phone, I left my jacket pocket unzipped, and it was gone when I arrived at my destination. I'm sure it's in a billion pieces right now. Now my dilemma is modding the bike or getting a new phone. :D   :(

Inner pocket?? And you can kiss that sucker good-bye. If it was a still in one piece I bet some hobo has already picked it up and has some extra cash.

And how far do you live from work? I've got a 45 minute ride to work. Fuck freezing my ass off for 45 minutes. Plus I'm riding home after a 13 hour day at 11pm.

I'm not that smart. There's a small possibility that I left it at a gas station off of 635, but if so it was gone when I went back to look.

One job takes me under 5 minutes to get to and the other takes about 20 minutes. I also don't work 13 hour days. :D But believe me, if I had the option to drive a car I'd take it.

Yeah I put papers, garage door opener and work phone in the outter pockets i.e. unimportant stuff. My cell, iPod, pay checks go in the inner pocket i.e important stuff.

I had to ride in 40 degree weather in the morning once from Dallas to Mansfields with wet gloves from the morning dew on my bike. I tried to keep my hands warm from the engine. I'd do it again :D

Im like some of the other guys here and rode in........ Left at 6:30 this morning. I ride year round unless its raining or ice on the road. My trip to and from work is around 20 miles. But I also ride year round just to ride. It doesnt get cold if you have the right gear on. I also ride with my ipod if I ride alone. Must admit though, its nice having the option on what to take to work.

I meant to call you yesterday!!!! YOU ARE FRIGGIN NUTZ MAN!!

We rode through Royse City, and Rockwall on the way home from the track at well above the speed limit with Esau leading the pack, I was thinking slow down dumb ass and at the same time I was thinking hell yeah, Ill be home in about 15 minutes! We passed a Royse City cop and a State trooper, neither did a thing. And when I say well above, I mean WELL ABOVE.

Steven and I were just talking about you last night...

I commented that there is a girl I work with who rides her bike unless there is precipitation in freezing weather. She rides 60+ miles from the office one way!

So... back to mine and Steven's discussion about you... assuming you had the gear that she does... full suit, heated electric gloves, ski mask under the helmet, etc... would you ride in? I said yes, he says no.

I think he might be right. :)

I've ridden in temps down in the low 40's during the day (JC would know and Stephen would know, it was misting that morning). I have no problem with doing that. It's riding home at night that I have a problem with because I've been caught up here at work during a few freak ice days where it wasn't that bad during the day but froze up in the evening.

So to answer your question, if I worked days I would ride most of the time. As it stands now, I probably wouldn't. I'm not physically tired but after a 13 hour day I'm mentally tired and heading home after at 11pm (or later) at night in possible freezing conditions for 33 miles isn't probably the safest thing for me to do. If I had a full suit, heated gloves, whatever I probably still wouldn't ride in freezing conditions if I can help it.

I'm gonna' say I win then! Hearing that you would do it is good enough for me! :D

And, agreed - riding a motorcycle takes SO much mental concentration... not a good idea to ride home after a 13 hour day in the dark. ;)
