I have gained about 20 pounds of muscle mass in the past 5 months. Im starting to get stretch marks. Am I doomed and have to live with them or is there a lotion or special concoction that can help the skin grow with the muscle?
Thanks
ARC.

Layin off the juice for a bit might not hurt.
;)
On another note, try olive oil, cocoa butter, wash with a loofah, and lots of Vitamin E.

Vitamin E
I had bad stretch marks on my legs back when I ran competitively, Vit. E does the trick. Also good at minimizing scar tissue.

Use it both orally, and topically.

If you're working out hard, taking lots of protien and an easy grower, that's totally reasonable...
However, if you are on the juice, it's none of our business...it's between you and your growing breasts, backnie and shrinking testies!!!
(Nothing turns the chicks on like big muscles, a high forehead, zits and a small package!!! LOL)

For biceps, try a really light curl or strait bar, say 10-25lbs and try to get really high reps...say 300 or so...go to failure. No cheating and get a little forward lean into it and keep your humorus perpendicular to the floor so you can't rest at the top. Also be sure you're getting full extension but no pausing. You may want to find something to lean into or have a freind support your lean from the front so you can concentrait on poping up and droping slow. If you use dumb bells, be sure to do both arms at the same time. That's a good shocker!
I think dumb bells are about the best for growth and form is key. I like to lean forward on something and use dumb bells through the whole range. Start with 5 reps hyper supenated, 5 reps 45' supenated, 5 hammer, 5 45' pronated and 5 hyper pronated. Start light 'till you get a feel and do at least 6 sets. Throwing that into my routine always helps me pinpoint the weak points in my biceps.
If you guys are competing by measuring total arm circumfrence, try supersetting bi's with tri's...being that tri's are 2/3rds of your arm, growing your tris may be cheating, but it would probably nudge you ahead.
Let us know who comes out ahead!

You're kidding right???
300 reps for gaining size?
I started with 15 inch pythons and I damn sure didn't put 4-5 inches on them by doing 300 reps, lol.
Now I have done high rep exercises, such as pyramids, super sets, drop sets...etc. and they have worked rather well…but doing 300 reps is a little ridiculous.
As for gaining size...I LOVE doing preacher curls, varying concentrations, or drag curls.
Intensity, variations, and proper form is the key to making those BB guns become bazooka's.

First of all, it isn't polite to scoff at someone because their methods don't fit your "text book" "run of the mill" work out program. If ARC wanted the standard answer, he could have pulled out a back issue of M&F. Everyone knows the key to growing mucles is the mind-muscle connection and proper execution. If you look at my description, you'll notice I focussed on proper form. Try doing 300 reps with out developing a keen awareness of your bicep and good form...
Second, I didn't say it was a "bread and butter" work out. I said a good shocker. You can use it once a week or so to help get off that plateau, but now that you mention it. I had 15"s cold in the 9th grade, with out developed tri's, from doing 4 sets of 50 reps every night before bed and every morning. That was back when I knew nothing...some times unorthodox works. Try it...then tell me it doesn't work.
I personally don't like preacher curls cause it alows you to rest at the top unless you butt your tri's up to the flat side.

Sorry if I came off as rude or whatever, I just would disagree with the logic.
The kid just started training 5 months ago; he is far from his plateau state.
I never once said your method would not work…any type of strenuous activity will build size, eventually ….
Whenever I do higher(not near 300 rep/set) workouts, I find my bicep locking up on me a lot…
It feels soooo damn strange scratching the back of your head and then extending your arm, finding your bicep in a contracted state still.
About the preacher curls…you are correct, flat side, tri butted is the ONLY way I would recommend doing them(basically it’s almost the same as doing a concentration curl off your knee), but then again, I do like to change things up a lot.
One thing I have learned though…try new things/exercises…maybe this might work for some…
but you damn sure won’t see me doing 300 reps for one set in the gym.

I totally agree. I didn't know he was that new to working out.
At such an early stage, I think dumb bell work would set a good base and prevent the dominant arm from overshaddowing the other. Guys new to working out have a bad habbit of working out for the other people in the gym and grab weights too heavy. I think as long as you stick to good form, don't try to go too big too fast and work all sides of the muscle, you'll come out ahead!
A couple of excellent techniques for fast growth are slow and controlled movements taking 3-4 seconds each way and fast contraction with a 3-4 second negative. This will kick your trash, so start lighter than you usually do...

Thanks for all your help guys. I have been working out since about 2000. But just off and on. This time I told myself Im going to really stick to it.
One of my football coaches was real big on form. He told me to do lightweight but real slow. I just blew him off, I guess I should of listened. :o
Thanks

The majority of growth occurs on the negative. You can improve muscle quality through explosive movement followed by slow negatives. Just be sure you get a good warm up before hand. Arnold used to do a 20-40 rep warm up set...

cocoa butter
it indeed works wonders....you just have to remain consistant...like everytime you get out of the shower you need to put some on, and every morning as well. Twice a day will definitely do nothing but great things for the collagin and elastin in your skin ;) (and I know I can't fucking spell either :p )

My baby momma used Vitamin E oil every day religiously while carrying my son.. She gained (and eventually lost) 40lbs, 115 - 155 - 115 and didn't get a single stretch mark. A couple years later she gained about 20 - 30 lbs, for lack of effort, and no longer using Vitamin E she got a few stretch marks..

I agree 100%..
you will grow with 300 reps.. but 10x slower then with doing 10-15 rep range.

come on. keep this shit to the smackatorium.. NOT the pimping iron section.
I've never heard of any treatment that gets rid of stretch marks but I'm going to try these to get rid of mine from having kids. Thanks guys....
Any ideas on how to tighten up your skin?

Bag balm is good for moisturizing skin where it gets chafed, tweakers use it to heal track marks, or so I've heard...
You can get it at most sewing stores and feed stores.
