I am trying to bump my meals up to 5 times per day, with just a 'snack' being the 2nd and 4th meal, with regular breakfast lunch and dinner in between.
What are a few good 'in-between' snacks?
Carrotts?
Sunflower Seeds?
Thanks,
SQ

Looking for cheap easy things I can stash in the fridge or cupboard here at work..
Puddings and Jello is good, but I can't stand rice cakes.
Beef jerky is another good one!
Any others?

Nuts are pretty high in fat.
I do like Charles, Fat free pudding. The Boston Creme Pie flavor is pretty good!

Nuts are pretty high in fat.
A small bag of sunflower seeds has 16g of fat and 200cals, they will usually last me 2 or 3 days at work.
The salt is what worries me...doesn't it cause you to retain water?

16g for only 200 calories?! Not hardly what I'd consider diet food.
You are correct on the salt, too much makes you hold water.

If you have fat, do you want most of your calories from fat or what?
School me, I'm a novice.

Nuts are pretty high in fat.
They are high in unsaturated healthy fats as is fish. This is the kind of fat you want to eat(in moderation).

Apples, oranges, grapes, rasberries, blueberries, apricots, etc., trail mix/nuts(light salt or none), yogurt w/ grapenuts cereal, 98% fat free kettle corn, smoothies, pb &j(all natural), balanced health bars like Detour, U-turn, Met-Rx, Balance, instant oatmeal w/ fruit of choice to sweeten(no sugar), turkey sandwich on whole wheat, wheat bagel, graham crackers, and the list goes on.

Your body needs small amounts of monounsaturated fats to "grease the system", and help your body process various fat-soluable vitamins. Saturated fats are worthless though, and not needed.

Keep an eye on the sugar content on those. Fat free yoghurt is good but buy the light version which is sweetened with splenda instead of sugar.
