View Full Version : For Fred and C

I've just put in the word with TXR to see if we can get a charity race and GTG for Fred and C.
There won't be anything fancy as far as classes go other than we are there for thier support. I've asked TXR for a donation to help Fred and C out in thier time of need.
I should hear back from TXR in the next day or so - Who will participate?
edit - FWIW - This is the time for some of us to put aside our differences and pull together in a time of need. If you don't want to help Fred and C, then just show up to bring something for thier girls... don't be selfish, especially in this time of the year....

that is sweet. That would be great.
I think a cruise and toy drive needs to be planed for the family so you can make sure the kids have a good christmas, and get them the things they want and need in these hard times.

... I was just reminded that we have track day coming up at Denton on the 19th I believe. It would probably be a bit overwhelming to have two events that close together - I know there is a toy drive and charity in the works for Fred, C and the kids at that event....

I really think that what they will need the most right now is money. We will plan on getting the girls' Christmas list taken care of closer to that time. I know that the oldest just had braces put in so that's a big chunk of change that is still not paid for. Gabi also has an opportunity to take a trip to Australia with some of her honors classes I believe. They were supposed to meet about it today but obviously had to reschedule. Fred was unsure whether or not C had short term disability. I think a cruise/race day to gather donations is a great idea!

and please remember they will also need daily things like toilet paper, paper plates, napkins, placstic ware, trash bags, soap, laundry detergent(esp with 4 females in a house) and etc. and other small things people dont think about also.
also someone might go to the closest wal-mart they shop at, and might see if they will be able to donate some groceries also. im sure they will help out in some way.

I hope she does have short term disablility; however, there will be a lot of added expenses for the family during her recovery that STD will not cover, and I know that this community can come together in a time of need to really help out.

This is pretty far out there, but Lee I believe you work with someone that may be able to put on a show at a benefit that a lot of people would come to see. Reckon he might step up to the plate to help out a member of the Mustang community in need?

The best thing we can do as a community is donate money and let the family buy what they need.
With that said, when this event happens I hope that people will come prepared to open their wallets and purses.
If nothing else, think about their girls. Let's make sure they aren't going without anything.

Could someone post the ages of their daughters? I've met Fred and C once or twice really briefly so I don't know much about the rest of their family. But still, I want to help in any way I can.

yep, money is going to be the most important thing. 200 toys will get in the way... believe me, i know. cash is what they will need.
as for the GTG, i am in. and since this is to help out fred, C and the family... why not make it a family event? it would be a good chance to see everybody's kiddo's.
maybe we could hold a DFW Stangs kiddie foot drag race or something. it would be funny seeing a bunch of kids running down the track and it would give the kids something to remember.

I will also work to see if I can get magnets to the effect so we can display them on our cars during the cruise or event kinda like the pink ribbon ride. I do promotional advertising so I will donate these magnets out of my own funds if people think it's a good idea but will have to make a decision soon to get them to the event on the 19th and will also be stopping by HPP to make a donation

We are in for something at TXR. But also just so you guys know, I posted this in the back porch.
http://www.dfwstangs.net/forums/showthread.php?t=270132
We will be taking donations at the shop, we will give 3 free dyno pulls to anyone who donates $50 or more thru Thanksgiving. I'm sure we can set something up at North Texas Nissan for there car show on the 19th. That is a very well advertised event with a DJ who can encourage people to donate for a good cause.
That day was setup by North Texas Nissan to give thanks to DFWstangs members. We may need to turn that day into a charity event for C, Fred, and the family.
We were planning on setting up a couple classes for the track that day. However with what has happen HPP would really rather just donate the money to them. Maybe we can still have the classes and the the donation will be made in the winners name or something? As long as DFWstangs is ok with the money going there instead that is what we will do.
The date that this had been setup for is perfect with it being right before thanks giving.
PS I wasn't trying to hijack the thread and we would be down for one at TXR also. I'm just tryiong to spread the word for anyone who would like to help.

No worries.. I talked to Unseen and he mentioned the deal at Denton. He also mentioned talking to Rob for a donation or something to that effect. I don't think it would be productive to have 2 events that close together so I offered to help at the one at Denton - I will be there regardless. Since the one at Denton is a bit more advertised it will most likely get the most response.
I've made my donation via paypal directly to Fred - I am also offering to help with setup at the track and organization in any way I can.
You guys were a step ahead of me - now we just need to get it into the event on the 19th.

Thats cool, I didn't want to be stepping on anyone's toes.
It's awesome how DFWstangs can get together in times of need. With all the drama that happens on here, it's wonderful how everyone can put it past them and do whatever they can to help eachother out in times of need!
