Official Mavs 1st game thread!!!

Tip off is 5 long hours thanks to f***ing TNT. :mad: I hate that they push all their games back an hour. Nobody likes to start watching sh*t at like 10 at night.
Rant off.

Anwyay, I think we can take Phoenix w/o Amare. I wonder how Phoenix will adapt w/o him? Lots of physical-ness that will be missing. That said, Dallas has definitely looked like a more defensive minded team during the pre-season and hopefully they'll stay committed to that well into the playoffs. I don't think we'll end up w/ 58 wins like last year - more like 53-54 - but should be a better team come playoff time. I'm definitely ready for some hoops action.

Heck ya! My father-in-law has season tickets for us this year. We've been to two of the preseason games and so far I like what I see. My boy Howard has looked good so far. Can't wait to be at the home opener against the dirty Spurs.

If we play solid I think we can take Phoenix on the road without Amare (knock on wood).

I did stay up for the game, just didn't feel like getting out of bed to post. ;)

I thought we were going to throw it away with Terry's missed free throws but he made up for it with the buzzer shot to send it to 2OT. What a game.

Hope it didn't wear them out too much for the Jazz tonight. Although we didn't play well, I think it showed some toughness for us to fight back on the road and win in Phoenix.

What an awesome game. I would have truely been disappointed if the Mav's lost this one in double OT; they did deserve it with the missed free throws and miscues on defense. Nash played the Mav's defense by exploiting the pick and roll and getting the Mav's to get mismatched on there defensive assignments. But it looked like the Mav's reversed that and did the same thing to the Suns in the second OT.

Great game and I hope this is a hint of the season to come. Can't wait for Saturday as I'm going to the Mav's game :D

I went to bed shortly after halftime and if I didn't go then, I would've surely went to bed when they were down by 17 with 7 mins to go. Too bad I didn't TIVO the rest of the game. Definitely shows the Mavs have a little character and can do great things, but I sure wasn't impressed with what I saw during the first 2 1/2 quarters. I'm gonna watch the whole game tonight against the Jazz since it starts at 8pm. Hopefully I'll see a glimmer of hope for this team instead of what looks like might be a bunch of 80-76 games this year.
