Seems like all he did was solidify himself among the Heisman candidates, after Bush's second ho hum week. Hell, even Dunham and Miller could see that, and they normally have very few accolades for VY.
"Young rushed for a career-high 267 yards and passed for 239 yards, setting a school record for total offense in a game, as No. 2 Texas scorched Oklahoma State in the second half for a third straight season in a 47-28 win Saturday night."
"The guy's a character," Texas tight end Neale Tweedie said of Young. "He's so confident and he just knows he's going to make something happen. It's just a matter of time."

People are bashing VY because he just proved he isn't the absolute number 1 candidate. He does deserve to be in the spotlight; however, if you qualify it he is the same as everyone else in the hunt. He was held up in the first half as the QB of the number 1 team in the nation and outplayed by OSU the worst team in the Big 12. You have to expect people to bash him when he faulters, just as you do Fran, Reggie, Vick, VT, Aggies,OU, etc. People bash who they don't like and when that person gives them the least little reason they jump on it. This is really a question you could have answered yourself, don't you think?

I don't quite think that VY had much of anything to do with the defensive woes of the first half, minus one poor throwing decision. He went for about 300 in the air, and on the ground. IF anything, he emerged from the back of the pack, to lead the pack, because all MOST voters are gonna do is see...hmm, Texas wins by about 20, VY ran for 293, threw for 297, broke school records, blah blah blah....yup, there's my guy. Bush? What did Bush do this week? OH...boooooring.
It isn't as if they actually watch each candidate play week in and week out, and had they watched VY, they would have seen him just about go for 300/300, while single handedly whipping OSU in the 2nd half.
As to RM, one thing is clear this season: He can't hold VYs jock, and VY is a jr.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on the RM vs VY thing for our opinions will never meet in the middle there. Only the future will tell which of these gents is going the long haul.

Ah hell, the future is irrelevant as to who's the better college QB. I mean, Jason White and Josh Heupel were GREAT college QBs, but....not so good on the next level. My real feelings on RM are that he is a good QB, but he's being hamstrung by terrible coaching. He's gonna need some re-tooling, if he can catch on somewhere, and that re-tooling better include some from a psychological aspect as well. He doesn't carry the air of confidence and pride that he once did.
