yeah....but DAMN that was a close play at first, wonder why it hasn't been replayed;)? I thought he was safe. Props to both teams though. The closest nail biting World Series in a long time. Too bad it couldn't go 7.

That was quite possibly the closest sweep I've ever seen in any sport . . . meaning three of the games came down to the wire. Usually in a sweep, it's a blowout. Congrats to the Soxx.

BTW: The Juice Box is the worst new stadium ever. :D

Unfortunately I never thought the Astros had much of a chance with their overpowering offense and all, but I am glad they lost to a team and city that was due, instead of a New York team or a California team for instance. Congrats to the Sux..........I mean Sox.

I must have blinked and missed the one replay. You know if Jeter had made that play, I'd still be seeing the replay dissected by John Madden tomorrow morning.

I agree, good to see someone other than the Yankees win it. Congrats to the Stros, they turned their season around and made a great run. They never let the Sox run away with it and they were in every game.

Now if my Kings can win the Stanley cup, I can die a happy man.

Sox played like winners all games. I just wish The Stros didnt get sweeped out. Yeah it was good we held them down, but it wasnt enough obviously. And that 3rd Base Crede is just a badass. I havent seen fielding like that ever. I could throw excuse after excuse as to my theory on why the Stros didnt perform up to par, but I think its dumb, and it would take too long. All in all it was a good series as far as intensity, but I would've like to see anything other than a sweep. Thumbs up to the real Sox fans. I know Ill still be wearing my Astros stuff. And hopefully next year we can be in the same ranking.

Garner said it best, his team is still winners, the astros are a great team, i'd love to see the my Sox and the stros next year in the series, I think they both play great baseball and pall it the way it should be played, also they do it with out the 200 million dollar payroll  i've been a white sox fan since i was born, from the posters hanging by my crib to pictures of me in kindergarden wearing white sox and bears shirts, im still young and unlike most i got to see them get one at least

I hope I live long enough to see the 'stros make it to the series again. As long as it took them this time, I may be sitting there holding my false teeth asking my great grandkids..........{old man voice}what did I miss?? {old man voice}:p

I expect to see the stros back in the near future. They are similar to the Sox in that they rely on pitching and timely hitting to win games. They'll make some adjustments and will be back, Stros fans can hold their heads up knowing that their club is a winning ball club that should continue to compete.

I've only been a Sox fan for 16 years, but prior to that, I had no team. At least I can say i've made the commute to Chicago to see them play.

Yeah, timely hitting............when's the time  Game 3? Game 4? (just a frustrated fan :( )

Timely hitting doesn't mean that their hitting comes through every game; they have to rely on their pitchers to keep them in the game and their offense to get key hits at critical points in the game rather than homerun after homerun.

all 4 games were decided by a total of 6 runs. Just shows you the determination the Sox had all series. That's what champions are made of.

Lidge must feel pretty bad. Gave up the winning homer to Pujols, Gave up the winning homer to Podsednik, and the winning hit to Dye.

No, they only showed the replay once because it was a good call. If it had been a bad call, we'd be seeing the replay for the next 10 years  Kinda like Brett Hull's Cup winning goal in '99. I hate National Sports Media.

I'm glad (and my wallet is $20 heavier) that Houston went ahead and let Chicago sweep them, or whatever you want to say happened.

Go ChiSox!
