Maston, you are an idiot. Let me say this RM is not anywhere near as good as VY or even a top D1 qb. A&M sucks this year. UT has not had a close game outside of the first game and has been just rolling. They are playing like they are the best team in the nation (and arguably are) and they know this.
Yes the BCS sucks, oh fucking well. It doesn't change the fact that you are an Aggie fan and they suck. So take your bitterness and hate elsewhere. Go pick a rivalry with Baylor.

ok ANY AND ALL HUMAN POLLS ADDED TOGETHER: t.u. still only has 15% of ALL the #1 Votes.
I have no Idea why TV and ESPN still use the AP poll rankings . . . actually, I've asked that all year when it doesn't even matter who's ranked by the AP when the National Championship game is based on votes in other polls.
But . . . the argument here IS THE BCS, so you're comment that the AP is THE poll shouldn't have been made if you're the self proclaimed "COLLEGE FOOTBALL DADDY"
I never defended the BCS. Look above, I said it sucks oh fucking well...
It's what we have now and if all goes as I predict, the two consensus best teams in the country (UT/USC) will meet at the Rose Bowl. You can't get past your blind faith and hatred of anything UT to realize the computers bumped up UT because they played a previously unbeaten team, and USC played Washington. Hmm let's ponder why UT jumped up (by the slimmest of margins for one friggin week). I'm guessing by next week USC will be #1 in the BCS again.

Why does everyone keep saying USC almost lost? Last I checked "almost lost" counts as a win. Hell Tech "almost lost" to Nebraska. Does that mean Tech isn't worth a shit either? As for the USC/ND game, USC found a way to win, champions do. ND would beat Tech by 20 or more. Any team with a top 25 defense and that can establish a running game can beat Tech though. Bottom line is that (unless something happens and Vtech overtakes texas) USC and Texas will play in the Rose Bowl and settle this. And I think Texas fans will see just how massive an attack Pete Carroll and co. can prepare for a title game.

Tech had proven nothing before the Texas game. Who had they played..... Kansas? KSU? Nebraska? Sam Houston? Florida International? Indiana State?
This game had blowout written all over it before kickoff.
The only reason they were ranked so high was that they had not lost a game and were from a traditional power conference.
Please do not chalk up Tech as a huge win.
There is no way Texas will fall past 2. They will fall back to #2 by playing OSU, Baylor, A&M and Kansas to close out their schedule.
USC has 3 ranked teams to finish out their schedule while texas potentially could have none.

What is so funny about that? Yes, a flag should have been thrown when he was pushed across the line. But it isn't the first time a blown call has changed the outcome of a game. If I remember correctly they still had to go 80 something yards to get in the position for that play. Don't get me wrong, I am in NO-WAY-SHAPE-OR-FORM a USC fan. I will cheer the day they lose (as long as Texas isn't the team that beats them! :) ). I just realize a damn good team when I see one. I do think that Texas will slip down to #2 again in a week, due to their schedule. However, as flawed as the BCS Nat'l Champ game has been in the past few years, I truly believe that if USC and UT win out their seasons and get to play each other in that game, they've gotten it right for once. I just don't see Texas or USC losing to Va Tech or the likes.

The funny thing is that you said that they "found a way to win." When, infact, had hey played the game as they should have...they would have lost. The penalty deserving play that followed was just further confirmation that they didn't have what it took to beat ND.

the only thing that worries me is Texas getting a bit relaxed and end up losing a game for some freakish reason. I hope Mack Brown is telling his team that every game left this year is a national championship game. No time for relaxing for letting down.
As far as UT/USC matchup, it would be great for college football and UT fans. UT having played 3 of the most storied programs in history within a year: Michigan, Ohio State, USC. And being 3-0 against them would help as well.
Everything being equal, USC and UT playing on all cylinders....UT runs up and down the field on USC. UTs defense slows, but not stops, USC offense enough. The Defensive Coor. UT hired from Auburn has done a OUTSTANDING job this year.

Of course they got lucky. There isn't a game played on Saturday that a team doesn't get lucky at some point, (a lucky catch, a lucky mistake by the D, or in this case a lucky missed call at the end of the game). Texas has had their share of missed calls too, that although may not have changed the end result, changed the game at that point.
What do you mean "had they played the game as they should have"? When the fumble went out and the ref was blowing the whistle and signaling for time to stop with seconds remaining (when the clock didn't stop and ND ran onto the field)? Even ND's coach said he knew the game wasn't over on that play.

Listening to you rationalize about USCs win is like listening to me rationalize about UT, it isn't very rational to say the least. Niether you nor I can be objective when discussing either team due to the inherent biasness we hold towards the other team. You hope and pray for USC to take a loss just as I hope UT would have this weekend. I really don't hate UT but my disdain is fed more by the particular message board. When you look at others schedules and understand that it is a computer that ranks the BCS then you know they will not be number 1 for long unless USC takes a loss. With that said Texas has only two unbeaten teams left on its schedule and niether one is in the top 25, where as VT can gain some points due to its Miami #6 visit and and #13 Boston. USC still has Cal and UCLA on their schedule. You need to hope at this point that UT maintains 1st or 2nd because they can get over taken in the BCS if they don't dominate the unranked teams they play and someone else in the top dominates ranked teams like maybe VT.

At this point in the season the other unbeatens most likely won't make up enough ground in the computers unless they make a serious dent in the human polls... which history shows is next to impossible to do since Humans tend to stay put until someone loses.
As long as UT wins convincingly and USC wins convincingly that will be the title game. Georgia will end up playing Alabama in the SEC title game (unless they both have a loss in which the point is moot)
VT has a very hard road ahead but wont make up enough ground in the human polls to help thier avg enough.
UCLA actually has the most interesting track because they are the only unbeaten that still plays USC. They have a legit beef with the BCS if they go undefeated with a USC take down notch on thier belt.
UT will fall to number 2 again next week. based on schedule strength, but with blow out wins and close USC games voters are and will continue to start placing Texas above USC.

The two circumstances held out as very lucky for the USC win over ND, there is no denying that. I'm never one to claim that Texas is untouchable. I stay very rational about it, much more so than most all of your calls. Thanks for the tangent, though.
It isn't a tangent it is just a very easy way of looking at things. If you are a Texas fan and everyone is telling you they are number two it is only natural for you to want the number one team to take a loss. This is clearly a bias not mean spirited just a fact. If this is beyond your comprehension I understand.

Lmao, maybe you are right. Maybe the USC fumble was strategically intentional. No one is claiming I am not biased, but it's difficult to claim that fumble was on purpose. The situation was fairly lucky, hardly "finding a way to win."
You almost add some credibility to yourself, then throw in the last sentence.
