Think this will be a hot selling item like the PS2 was when it came out? I never got around to getting a XBox, but after playing one at Best Buy everytime I go there, it is much nicer looking than the PS2... since the 360 is only a month out, I know it will be like the PS3s main comp, and the PS3 doesn't come out for another year or so. The lines to get the PS2 were crazy, and they were selling for like a grand online the same night. Will XBox-360 have the same following? :( If so, maybe I should go reserve one somewhere now. :(

The reservations on the first shipment are long gone. Unless you can find a store that bought alot of extras to put on reserve...

I'm debating weather or not to sell my 360 stuff when I get it or not, turn a profit. ;)

Hmmm,,, Well I am going to buy it from Best Buy on my no interest CC for a while, should have it paid off around Xmas anyways, but I don't want to put it on a different CC... I think a Best Buy around here will have one, because they don't do reservations. I'll have to wait in line for a long while more than likely. :(

If the xbox 360 is going to be like the ps2 then best buy will be sold out 5 min after the store opens day after shipment. There were people camped out at the best buy by my house. Im going to hit up Fryes if I got the cash since I couldnt get it in on time for the reservations. For some reason they ALWAYS have the hard to get stuff like that.

I am cool with camping, I got to Wal-Mart 9 hours before it came out, and was first in line... it really wasn't that bad as long as it is inside. :o

I had a friend that was mgr at wal mart and I asked her to snag me a PS2 off a pallet in the back and come to find out upper mgmt locked them up in a cage so employees couldnt snag them and re-sell them for profit. She told me to be there at midnight for the offical release and she would see what she could do but what they ended up doing was CRAZY!

They had everyone waiting for a PS2 collect by the service desk up fron then locked the doors (24 hour wal mart btw) and asked all the other customers to either leave the store or wait at the front of the store while they released the PS2. They then waited till midnight and announced the PS2's were in the automotive section on the back of the store and the whole group of 100+ people bolted for automotived running over anything in their path. needless to say it was mayhem and the store got FUCKED UP! O yeah and I didnt get a PS2 :mad:

LMFAO, that sounds fun... all out brawl for a PS2... I bet I could still get my tubby ass to run for a cool gaming system... lmao.

Mine was less eventful, there was a nice line, we all sorta hung out and talked bout the PS2, from what we had seen. The guy and girl up near me played cards for a while, and just sorta sat around. Then at 12:01, they opened the back up, and unlocked the cage, and handed them out in order after you paid... it was really very well organized actually.

No, I dont think Xbox 360 will be that wanted, it'll have about as many people running to get it as the gamecube.

I suspect everyone on Xbox Live EXCEPT for me has one on reserve, if not more. I have a buddy online who said he'd sell me an extra for $200. I really don't care that much.

Well if its like the PS2, the price won't come down for at least a year, it is worth it to me for the extra year of playing... after a year or so will be the PS3 anyways, so I'll need to get one of those then. :cool:

The only other company in recent memory that seemed to take forever on their games, was Bungie, with Halo... was almost done (as in playable, with full multiplayer support), 3 years before the Xbox was even announced, and at least 2 years before there was even a rumor of Xbox's existence... I still have a PC Gaming mag with a preview of Halo from 1999.

Well, there was Ion Storm as well, but since Daikatana was a miserable failure, I wouldn't put 'em in the same catagory.

Saw it the other day at Best Buy playing on a Samsung Flat Panel and I've gotta say I was impressed with it. They were playing (I think Brother in Arms) and I was pretty impressed with it. Wish I could afford it :(

I won't keep em both, I just going to get one at WalMart in case Best Buy don't have any... Plus, if I get one at Best Buy, the credit is 18 months same as cash for anything over $300. :)

I reserved mine a while back at Game stop........Traded in my PsP and 3 games, I got 229.00 bucks for all of it. All I owe them now is 317 for the game and the extra remote. :D

I'm now disappointed. Many of the orginally listed launch titles have been delayed. Some of them all the way back to 2006.

I'm now not sure I want to spend $399 bucks on this when the best game out may be Call of Duty.

If Ghost Recon was going to be released, it would be a no brainer but it isn't expected until Feburary.

BTW, Microsoft is creating artificial shortages so they can generate more hype by being able to say that the 360 is sold out.

What games got pushed back? All I want right now is Condemned and NFS: Most Wanted, if those both don't make it the day it comes out, I'll just wait till next year. :(

That was the system 3 games hard drive silver live membership 1 wireless control 1 wired control HD cables and a few other goodies.

I thought it was a hell of a deal. There is only one game I wanna play and that is PGR3

PGR3 got pushed back till after Jan 2006...

The two I pre-ordered, Most Wanted and Condemned, are still a go, so it looks like I'll have to get one.

Hell, he could've bought it at Best Buy and been in the same situation... and I believe Sony has a policy that there has to be a minimum of 8 dead pixels before they'll replace a PSP, which means Best Buy also won't take it back unless there's 8 pixels or more.

I heard one of the Best Buys in Plano got over a 100 units, but the line is much longer. That was at noon today.

I was also told, they won't be opening at midnight. That means those folks are waiting until 9pm tomorrow.

Not sure if that is actually the case, but if it is, then those guys are in for a cold night :D

As for me, I was going to wait until midnight but my Walmart had their allocation reduced from 60 to 10.

Oh well, I'll get it later.

well i myself play WOW and sometimes I see myself wanting a console so i buy one used and never play it due to computer games then sell on ebay for maybe 5-10 bucks less than the initial purchase. I think the xbox360 is sweet as hell but 50-60 bucks a game plus the cost of the console is going to get pricey very quickly. I think i'll play my n64 a little while longer when i'm in the mood for consoles.

I've got four in my living room with an extra controler, PDZ Limited Ed. Most Wanted and Condemned... I plan on selling three of em, I just put my first on ebay about 5 minutes ago. They are going for right around a G, but some have gone for 2-3 K already... :D
