What bike i want. I think i'm going to try to get an 04-05 R1. I'll look into an 02-03, but the 04+'s are nice. Plus, they are easier to find than an RC51.

If you really wanted an RC51 I say stick with it.

Well, i want either one for specific reasons, but after riding an R1 the other day, i'm hooked. They are comfortable as hell, and sexy as a mofo!

Yeah I say go for an R1. They are really nice bikes and feel exspensive when you ride them. The power is ultra smooth and super fast.

Yeah except it revvs a little faster ;)

Jose: I got to ride an RC51 the other day and honestly I wasnt that impressed. That thing kicks your ass low in 1st and 2nd, but it runs out of steam REALLY fast up top. I guess im just spoiled by my R1.

Everyone and there dog has a R1

The reason the RC is so hard to find is because everyone that has one is holding on to it.

R1's are a dime a dozen

Yes you are! I like the RC for just cruising around, and a couple of track days. I like the R1 for haulin ass, and a couple of track days.

RC's are almost as uncomfortable as the Ducati's for cruising around. That tank will bust your nuts just as the Ducati does. but get them in the twisty's and they are your best friend :D

I have a 02 R1 that I think I am going to get rid of, I am moving up to St. Louis and wont have a damn garage, Its blue with one scratch on the bottom of the tailsection(license plate came off one day  ) Other than that, the bike is mint, chrome wheels and a few other extras. If you are really wanting to look into R1's let me know.

I don't know facts, but I'm guessing they don't make as many RC's as they do R1's. ;)

My bad fool. No need for name calling! How is this.

The 04 R1 has the smoothest accerleration out of all the liter bikes. Throttle input can be adjusted smoothly without upsetting the chasis. While the other liter bikes will be spinning the rear off the corners and wheeling the R1 with its motor tilted slightly more forward than the previous 03's will keep that front wheel down where it needs to be. Factory steering dampener gives confidence off fast exits with mild bumps and allows for quick changes in direction without much worry of a wicked tank slapper. HP is not an issue for this bike. It has PLENTY of it even though it feels a little like a 600 on the low end which actually works in its favor. The super light titanium undertail exhaust gives it that ultra sweet look and saves weight. Even though it can get a little hot while riding through town we found that getting rid of the cat solved most of that problem. One thing we would change is the gearing on the smaller tracks even though most people probably won't notice much difference because after all it is a liter bike and has massive amounts of power. The 04 R1 is a winner.

The RC51 is a heavy beast and gets wooped on by the 04 R1. :D

my old 04 R1 was the most tits bike i've ever ridden, by far. Hard to out sexy-fy it too. I owned it and my 01 R6 there for a while at the same time and that 04 bike i swear has the turn on the little one. I hear that 180 rear turns it in even quicker (bottlerocket told me).

Another 04 would be sweet, gotta see about that at some point. Its really REALLY a bad ass bike.
