Well when I left for school I forgot to put my clear visor on so I was stuck with my tinted one for the night. Well I had it flipped up for a second while we were going down the highway and thats when it hit me. I dunno what it was but it slammed into my right eye dead on. It took all I had to keep my left eye open just to see where I was going to pull over to the shoulder. Pain like I have never felt. I sat there on the side of the highway for a few minutes just trying to get to where I could see good enough to get off the road. It still hurts like crazy right now and my vision is blurry as crap in my right eye. I sure hope I didn't screw it up. :(

I did the same shit the other night. Left home in the morning to go to work and forgot my damn yellow shield. Wound up riding home from work at 11pm and following a safe distance behind a car so I could keep my shield down. Hope you get to feeling better.

I've had a lot of close calls, but so far nothing has ever hit me directly in the eye. Had a bee go in my helmet once...the lil fuck stung me on the side of my temple and then my vision got blurry in that eye and hurt like hell.

yea that is a good thing he didn't lay it over. I guess I will just stick with my clear visor then and not put the tinted one on. I have one from my old helmet (race car) that would work but I did think about the night time to.

i had to go to the hospital about 2 months ago to get some "debris" removed from my eye. I was riding through a town with my visor up, small flake of metal came up and hit me in the eye. Couldnt flush it out and eventually had to go to the hospital where they tried to flush it out and couldnt. They eventually had to numb my eye and use some tweezer like things to pull it out. NOT FUN!

That sux man!
I hope you did not do any eye damage.

Switching shields is a pain...not the mechanics of it....just remembering to do it and/or carrying it in the tank bag.
I got some sunglasses that you can change the lenses...smoke, clear, & rose (for heavy overcast days).
They are small frame so they fit in the helmet pretty well.
Here's a link to them.

Shit bro hope it gets better, one day i had my visor up on thew highway to get a some cool airfor a moment, i then put it back down and a big fucking bug nailed the shit out of it. If it was up one second earlier that would have sucked .

It's not really that bad as long as you get yourself into a habit of carrying it with you. I've got a Fieldsheer visor bag that I carry my spare shield in and I either slide it into my jacket or my tank bag. I work long days (go in at 10am and leave at 11pm) so I have to carry to shields. I used to do the clear shield deal with sunglasses during the day but I've just been spoiled with my mirrored shield and yellow night shield :D

I did the same thing one day. I had two helmets and was wearing the tinted one (blue/gold mirror on the outside) all day long and had gone out somewhere and stayed out till dark. On the way home I had to wear the visor up and while driving along a BIG ASS bug came right up into the inside corner of my eye. :( It hurt like hell, and the real killer is I could not get it out at all and had to ride from near dallas all the way home to arlington like that. got hom and looked in the mirror, moved my eye to the left as far as it would go and a WHOLE bug pops out (dead byt then).

Fudge! Well I think I flinched my eyes shut right at the last second so it didn't get in my eye. But man it slammed it hard. Man I'm glad it feels much better today. Not near as blurry as it was last night. I think I'll be aight. Not sure if I will be able to make it to Cresson. I have no ride and no tires at the moment. I always get my grandpa to take me in his z71 and I can't drive it by myself because its a company truck and I'm not on the insurance. And he can't go because he just had surgery.

Here you go, only $5.99 but I got it for free when I bought my jacket through them (also a Fieldsheer).

Brockton Cycles - Fieldsheer XB Visor Bag (http://www.brocktoncycle.com/eshopprod_cat_757-5741_product_109645_keyword_fieldsheer.Fieldsheer_ XB_Visor_Bag.htm)

# 600 Denier Carbolex® waterproof material outer
# Soft touch protective poly-tricot interior lining
# Zipped entry pocket
# Reflective Phoslite
# Expandable belt to fit up to a 44” waist
# Internal size: 19” x 6”
# Color: Black

Some people use a large sock to store there visors in. There are a couple of other styles of visor bags that other company's have but you can't beat the Fieldsheer for that price. Might also look at some of the other stuff that Brockton Cycles sells, they have some good deals on Fieldsheer gear.
