I got this from my strength coach in college, and he got it from an article on Jesse Armstsead (used to be a linebacker for the Giants). It goes as follows:

Flat bench:

Set 1: 20 reps, immediately followed by 10 dips
Set 2: 10 reps, 10 dips
Set 3: 8 reps, 10 dips
Set 4: 6 reps, 10 dips

Incline bench (barbell, 1 1/2 minute rest between sets):

3 sets of 15

This will kick your ass. After incline, throw in 3 sets of 8-12 of decline, and then possibly some fly's or something else if you are someone who likes to do a lot of sets.

When I feel like i am sticking, I throw this workout in the mix for a couple of three weeks. It gives me an awesome "pump", and is pretty damn tough.

Armstead was doing 245 for his sets of 15 on incline! I got up to 185, but muscle endurance becomes an issue!

Just an idea. Hope this helps out.

I'm always changing my routine up, but here is one that kicked the crap out of me for flat bench.

Do your normal warm-up, then choose a weight that is light but not too light. I chose 225. I do one set of 8, then one set of 25. Then I did one set where I did it really slow and held it about 1 inch above my chest for a 2 count and then finished the lift. I did it ias many times as I could (less than 8). I then did incline and cables normally.

Favorite incline dumbells, because w/ the barbells, I never really feel my muscles contracting. But the one I love that I never get to do that much do to no work-out partner is floor bench, that whips my ass.

Chest fly is one of my fav's but there's nothing like a buttload of pushups to make your chest burn like fire.

I don't do chest that often because for me it's one of those muscle groups that grows faster than any other group on my body. If I do chest once/week, it starts getting out of proportion, so I'll do it once every other week :D I don't do bench that much because it broadens my chest too much, so dumbells and cable flys is usually what I stick to.
