Just curious but do they let you test ride a bike like you would when buying a car? Just seems like a big liability to both the dealership and whoever is test riding it if something happens.

Most dealerships will let you test ride.

Really? Never bought a new bike and rarely stop by a dealership so I had no idea.

Depends alot on what you are looking at.Most of the ones ive delt with with only let you ride used bikes .

U thinking about up sizing to a 1000?
. You looking to buy a new one or just want to ride one to see the difference?

Man I'm not sure how old you are or where you are going, but even when I was cash-ready shopping for my then-new 02 R1, nobody was interested in test rides, course the demand of that particular bike warranted that I think, but even so most places I went wouldn't let sportbikes on the road.

I was just curious. I just can't picture someone looking for a bike and has no prior experience with a particular model just plucking down money on something unknown like that. I wouldn't want to do it because what happens if I don't like the ergos or some other feature. I wouldn't think you can just turn around and return the bike.

Plano kawasaki let me take a brand new 636 for a 40 miles joyride :D

I ended up buying that exact bike though, and the dude knew i was coming in to purchase, not just joyride.

Usually they will let you purchase the bike and have a limited number of miles to bring it back. I know the Yamaha dealer by me will give you 20 miles to figure it out. You have to purchase the bike so they are covered if you toss it, but you can bring it back in new condition. Thats why I had them build mine out of a crate, I didnt want someone elses used bike

when ive purchased new, they said you have to be 25yrs or older to test ride. otherwise i can completely have the purchase done, THEN test ride.
