Wich do you prefer and why? I see alot more 600 riders on here it seems and i was just curious, cause of the price? or the performance.

600 is smaller, more agile, faster to brake and easier to learn on (more forgiving). 1000 is just insane, especially if its your first bike. You looking to get yourself one?

[insert inevitable "1000 is better because I only ride my bike 9 seconds at a time" statement here]

I "prefer" the 1000, just because i like something with more torque, and a get up to 150 faster type bike, than a 600. BUT, thats for street riding. AS for track use, i'd take a 600 because like stated above, they are more nimble, and brake alot easier.

Im just giving these "no ball havin, 600's are faster on our little tiny track that's never seen a proffessional race" pickle heads shit. Unless you have a lot of self control a 600 is the way to go for your first year, get some experience then step up...or do what JC did and buy an old R1 with no second gear and claim you have a real 1000......lol....again, im kidding around........lol :D

Its definately about self control . The bike will only go as fast as you make it. If you can take it easy and learn to ride, it doesnt really matter if its a 1000 are not. I know plenty of guys who had never touched a bike learn on 1000's and now say there really happy they started on the big bike. I guess thats because after riding a liter bike 600's really are panzy.

I think Nick has raced in some big races. Nothing small about Texas world. 160+ mph going into turn 1. A liter bike would come in handy on that big straight!

I've been there twice and Cresson once. It's the closest one and the cheapest so it just makes since to go there. :)

Do you know how far those tracks are? I do and it's not a cheap trip especially with the gas prices these days.

I would also ask how big you are? if you weigh in at 155, a 600 might suit you fine for a while... if you weigh 275, that 600 might get old quick

750's are pointless if you ask me, there a step up from a 600 power wise, but price wise for a newer 750 your gonna spend between 7 and 9.........just get a 1000....just my opinion. ;)

The 600 suits me fine for learning how to ride a bike to 90% of it's capabilities. I'm know where close but, when my skills start to grow past this R6 then I'll move up to a literbike. I reckon that's gonna take a year of racing/trackdays/Oak Hill Rentals and hopefully not too many crashes. har har har

Theres no way I could give up the raw power and torque of a 1000 to be able to handle alittle better in corners, could care less how well I do in the twisties. All that matters to me is the POWER

not if the 600 rider knows what he's doing and hangs back at corner entry, he can have plenty of corner speed to blow past you and be in front for the next corner

ehhhh could honestly careless about twisties, its fun to corner but no worth giving up the torque and power to justify it

Next time I'm gonna dive in under you in a right hand high banked corner and slap your kill switch. pull away from that, torque monster. :p

You won't crash. You won't be going fast enough in the curve for the sudden loss of power to upset your suspension. ;)
