Since mandatory evacuation a lot of people have threatened to shoot any officers that come to their house.

Gee, I wonder why, since in American your property is not really yours but belongs to the government. And when the government says it is time to leave the government property, you have to go.

BTW, like I said in the other thread. The government will take a bunch of property with emminant domain and give it to developers to make quarter million dollar homes along the river and lake front.

Didn't they flip flop and say they could stay now?

But.....if the government wasn't doing mandatory evacutions to get people out of that putrid area full of disease, would those same "forced-evacuees" sue the government for not doing these forced evacuations? Just curious..

Yeah, it is a catch-22. You tell the people they should leave or they will die, but they stay. Then they die and sue because you didn't force them to leave.

Well, their families would sue at least. Then there's pointing fingers like saying the govt. didn't do it's job.

I put the blame solely on the ignorant people staying there. They were given enough warning to begin with, they've had several chances to be helped out, the govt. isn't going to keep their house  , and they'll be put in safer conditions... not ideal, but safer. I would owe it to myself and family to do so in the first place.
