Dublin? Elaborate please?

Last year about 11 of us rode out to Dublin and toured the DP plant. It was a cool ride, and we had fun. I'd like to do it again.

Actually we didn't tour the plant as they were closing as we got there (unless you went back some other time).

October 1 sounds good to me. Let me know what time you guys can start and maybe we do a modified route down there and maybe stop by my parents lake house in Whitney for a cold beer, late lunch, and rest stop.

If my bikes put back together by then I might be up. I'm trying to figure out if I should run the exhaust like a buell and say I'm done with it, or rig up a one off undertail setup. I'm already glassing a one off undertail though, and room is tight with that big ass subframe, so I might be dumping it under the motor.

My ass get very sore and hot very quickly! Undertail looks trick as hell. But dumping it under the motor would be the more sensible thing to do for the comfort level.

October 8th? I'm out on that day also. I have to work :( Ya'll just go whenever, and don't worry about me.

yea, tryin to build it to win a few shows, not really be comfortable or fast. and a SRADs gotta fat ass, so I dont want the exhaust makin the back end of the bike look even heavier.

SRAD huh? I've always thought those would look really trick as hell with a custom undertail system. The tail is be enough for the exhaust cans to sit inside of it. Then have the exhaust come out under the bottom of the tail section towards the back, and cut it flush with the fiberglass. Making it pretty much invisable. Of course you would have to do some insulating, and maybe reinforce the fiberglass with something that is a little more heat resistant. But I think it would look trick as hell!

No, small country roads no major highways like 35. We also hit a little of the Hill Country which I enjoyed.

Yeah, and what pace do you guys usually ride at? Lindsay want to come but she has a Ninja 250 and dont know how well it would fare.

I think she'll be fine. I'm sure there will be two groups like last time, I don't mind riding at the back of the group so she can ride with me. Is she comfortable riding any sort of long distance and in a group?

Any using a Chatterbox or thinking about getting one? I'd like to buy one but would be nice to have someone to talk to :D

ok, i have subscribed to it.

if the chase truck falls through...my buddy has a shop there in dublin. at the least, you guys will have a place to store a bike if you need to. he also has a truck and a 25 ft car hauler.

just a thought for you all.

one route you may want to check out is old 67 through glenrose to Hico. there is a pretty good mexican resturant on the square and there's the billy the kid museum also. then you take hwy 6 west out of Hico to dublin.

the roads twist and turn pretty good and scenery is much better than going the interstate.... plus the hi-po's won't be as bad. ;)

Already purchased via eBay. Worked out to $220 each shipped so we saved about $30 which isn't to bad. Do a search on eBay for user "superstarcycles". I'm looking right now and he has a Buy it Now for a single X1 for $210.

We can do that whenever as something seperate from the Dublin trip. Not sure if we would have the chase truck though as my cousin who I trust to drive my SuperCrew has moved to East Texas and only comes to town once a month. i just noticed, isn't this the same day as the UT/OU game ? i'm kinda wanting to watch UT kick the crap out of OU for once :D

damn i wanna do both !!!

Would love to ride but I can't miss the game.

That and I would need a place to stay in dallas the night before so I do not have to ride up there that morning.

Haven't decided on a meeting place yet, you guys want to meet at that same gas station on I-20 and Great Southwest Pkwy that we met up at last time? Say an early start time, like 9am or 10am (that's fucking early for me!).

Well if you are not trying to be a smartass ( :D ), I-20 and Great Southwest Pkwy (the same street for Traders Village) intersects in Grand Prairie :D

Pretty far but closer than driving in from Longview.

Here is a rough idea of how far.

Google Map to meeting location (http://maps.google.com/maps?spn=0.602711,1.129807&saddr=Lewisville,+TX&daddr=3902+S+Great+Southwest+Pkwy,+Grand+Prairie,+ TX+75052%C2%A0(McDonald's%3A+Grand+Prairie)&hl=en)

I live 10 miles north of lewisville on I-35. We could meet up and caravan out to the big meeting spot. Bottlerocket isn't too far away either. Just a thought.

Sorry bro :)

Shouldn't take to long to get there. What do you guys think for a start time? I think last time we didn't leave until Noon or 1pm because JC had class that morning (but I can't remember exactly). I'd like to leave sooner than that but not to early as I am not a morning person.

Cool !
My new (used) Superhawk & I need a road trip :)
It's been 6 days since it had a long run.
These commuting miles just don't do it justice and it's hard keeping my speed down in the city....not to mention dangerous (whoa big fella.... whoa)
