My 2003 Yamaha R6 has a problem the fourth cylinder or (far right cylinder) does not fire. I have replaced the plug tested the coil pack both are fine, consistint spark to cylinder. I am thinking now maybe it is the fuel injection and I am not getting fuel to that particular cyclinder. the other cylinders fire perfect. The bike runs and sometimes the far right cylinder will fire but not always. The problem just happened one day on my way home from work. Any help would be appreciated...Thanks

Yamaha should stick to making pianos ;)

Would a bad coil pack cause some kind of similar problem?

Easy way to check if it is getting fuel is to pull the plug and check and see if it is wet and smells like gas. Make sure all the plug wires click when you put them on the plugs as well. It's got air, and I'm sure its got compression, so its either fuel or spark. Sounds to me like either a bad injector or coil pack.

the coil pack is producing spark and it is a new plug

Pull out the plug after you run and see if it smells like gas and if it is wet.

the coil pack might be fine, but still take it in to Yamaha. The coil pack works, but when installed it will arc off to the cylinder head instead of making a good spark. Yamaha should check this for free on all '03 R6s and will replace it for free if that is the case.

If the miss comes and goes that sounds like a coil pack.
