Went in there this morning to look at picking up a new scooter. I had every intentions of paying cash for one right there, or putting a cash deposit on one that they had ordered or could order.
Got a salesman, and tried to talk to him about the scooters they had on the floor. he did nothing but try and get away from me. It was like as soon as I said scooter, he imediately lost interest in me. There was a couple that walked in after me looking at an R1, and he was doing everything in his power to get away from me and get over to them. I was actually trying to talk to him while he was walking away from me. Very rude!
I know that they aren't gonna make as much money off of a scooter than they would an R1. But he acted like they didn't even want my money. So, I guess I'll take it elsewhere. I'm all about supporting those that suport the CMRA, and I tried to do that. But, I can get the exact same scooter somewhere else for about $300 cheaper. Why should I pay more to be treated like that?

That's to bad. Spread the word about how bad you were treated at Motion Cycles and see how much this one incident costs them in lost sales.
So what type of scooter are you looking at Nick?

Yeah, thats the place off of 635 and Plano rd.
Was looking at the Vento scooters. They have a 150cc 4 stroke that hits 65+mph. Looks better and has a cheaper price than the Aprilia scooter.

Oh...... :o
I want the automatic, and 4 stroke. Don't want to worry about shifting gears or oil injection. Just gas and go. Plus, this is cheaper and still hits the 65mph mark.

how much is it? 3500 for a new rs50 seems like a sweet deal to me...plus you can still beat tamestang on the track with it :)

I guess what bothered me more than being blown off is the fact that they were trying to charge me MORE than the listed MSRP. They say that they give a discount to CMRA members, but in fact they were trying to make an extra buck off of me. I know what MSRP is on these things, and their price was $400 over MSRP! Then he lied right to my face and told me that they aren't making anything off of them
MSRP is $2100
Their price is $2500
I can have it delivered to my door for $1850 from another dealer with a free helmet and a free cover.

Was it Cory or the steroid freak Brad ?
They both suck, I had given them more than one chance a while back and now don't go there to even look at something. I hope they go out of business, that's how bad they suck. If you bought something fro them you got screwed one way or another..

i had a several bad experiances up there myself with multiple diffrent guys, including the sales manager when i was trying to get an R6 but due to how i was treated went out and bought my GSXR600 and got a much better deal as well. they are all fucksticks as far as im concerned i dont understand how they get any bussiness. oh did i mention that the sales manager told me to my face "I dont have time to deal with you. i have to get to rockwall to buy my new taho in cash"

thought they were a decent shop... compared to Central Yamaha, we'll see how many weeks it takes for my Yoshi to get here before I'm ready to pass final judgement... sales guy said 3-5 days, it's been almost two weeks.... :o

Well, I'd just like to give props to Steve Harvanek(the owner). He's stepped up to the plate, and offered me the best deal yet. He personally emailed me this morning, and I am completely satisfied with the results.
On a side note. I would like to say that I was more than willing to support Motion cycles even if the price matched MSRP. Getting a deal from another dealer is not always the best deal in the long run. You will need service at some point and time, and local dealer is always better than someone that is out of state.
I'll admit that I was pissed off because I felt like I was pushed off to the side with my little scooter purchase. But, the fact that they were trying to charge me MORE than the listed MSRP for a CMRA discount, well that just lit a fire under me, and got my blood pumping. I felt like they were just trying to take advantage of the sky rocketing fuel prices, and jacking up the prices of the scooters that got really high MPG.
Anyway, Steve has made things right and all is good. In the future, I know now to go directly to the person involved and skip the salesman.
