getting wheels chromed

Im trying to decide whether to get my stock wheels chromed or get a set of aftermarket wheels. The places ive looked at are around 550 to chrome mine. Ive seen some aftermarket wheels for around $1k.Just wandering what you guys think and if the aftmarket wheels are better or worse.Thanks

was thinking between lakeshore off the net or maybe custom chrome in dallas.

At that price, all the places I've seen do decent "street chrome" work. It will have its fair share of flaws...but you really wont notice it unless you're inspecting it. Last time I looked at having my wheels chromed, Wayne at Show and Go told me he would hook me up at $425 a wheel. Honestly, you will get more of a shock factor if you have the wheels powdercoated or if you put on some aftermarket wheels. I've seen some wheels polished with a candy powdercoat finish that looks like the colored chrome..its awesome.
