Im lookin at 2 bikes that ive gotten down to

the first one is a SV650 SV650 ( http://www.dfwstangs.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=51541&stc=1)

the second one is a BMW F650CSBMW (http://www.dfwstangs.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=51540&stc=1)

I know the SV really well and that Vtwin has lots of low end power..and a smooth powerband and i like the sporty look to it.

On the otherhand i do like the looks of the BMW but its a single cylinder rotax motor..with 50hp

The SV650 has 80hp... so.. they are very much in the price range im looking at
Any suggestions?

If being different is worth extreemly high maintaince bills and less power...go with the BMW. You will probably have alot higher resale on the BMW assuming you can find someone to buy it (thats the catch)

If you just want something to enjoy riding...go with the SV650..very solid bikes, cheap to maintain and fix..and they perform outstanding

i would be using it for back and forth to school and around town..
Are they really that much of a fuck to fix?

yea, euro bikes are easily 10x the price into maintaince. The fact that thats a rotary on the BMW is going to scare off almost all non dealership mechanics is going to mean there wont be any cheap way to get it maintained. I also noticed the BMW is belt drive....I'm not a fan of belt drives on sportbikes. Not so much that I've seen problems with them, as I just dont have any reason to trust them.
