I've been threatening for a while not to start riding my scooter to work. It's always been just a pit bike for the track. But as of today, I am going down to Midlothian and picking it up. I am going to start riding it to work now, it's only about 5 miles. But at 70mpg, I'll be good to go! I don't care if people laugh at me or not. These freakin gas prices suck!

I've got a bike already(Ducati 748), and I also already have the scooter. But, the scooter is almost no mantinance at all. Just a gas and go kinda thing. Tires are cheap(like $10), and you can run the piss out of it.

In Austin, you can't drive down a street without seeing a few people on scooters. Just have a holster with a shotgun in it. :D

As long as you never take it on the freeway...it will be a fun ride. I got to play with one of those a few months back...so easy to throw around...always gotta shift though.

go for it, 5 miles aint shit. i've got to get my 900rr back together quick before this gas mess gets out of hand. the dart rail stops right in front of my job, but it takes forever going from plano down to mockingbird, then back into garland. and i'd take take that aprilia anyday, you don't always need a bunch of power to have fun.

I hear what yall are saying. I have been riding my bike daily for the last couple of weeks. My truck is a 4X4 and it sucks gas around town and not much better on the highway. But it looks like I am investing in a rain jacket or suit. My bike has never seen rain but all thats gonna stop really fast. :(
