A friend of mine bought an f250 SD Kingranch with the uber 6 disk changer. Now he is trying to get an XM radio installed and his dealer was giving him the run around. They send him to the radio manufacturer and he had to order some $100 cable for it and was told it is back ordered for months.
questions.. does anyone there know the cable im talking about? can you get it cheaper or sooner? let me know please.

just tell him to get one with an fm modulator...then he can just turn it on some unused frequency and listen...though i would suggest sirius over xm.:D

We only use Sirius. I'll ask around anyway and see if I can find out something.

can you do a "factory installed" sirrius option for that radio?

06 F150's will offer factory Sirrius free for one year.

alright dave, I see how it is.
IIRC, Pac just released their aux-in for the 04+ F series w/ 6 disc in dash, which means he could use a portable or a Sirius Starbase to pump some tunes into that puppy.

I'm using a SkyFi II in my '03 Explorer with the Audiophile system. I bought the Delphi Universal FM Modulator (~ $39.95 at Best Buy) to use instead of the SkyFi II built-in wireless FM modulator because of concerns about sound quality. I can tell you that it works very well and the sound quality is excellent. It's very easy to install; simply plug the modulator into the antenna port on the back of the radio, plug the vehicle antenna into the modulator, install the XM antenna, and plug the XM antenna lead into the car kit. Depending upon how anal the installer is, the total installation time should be ~ 1 - 2 hours.
