(CNN) -- Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson has called for the United States to assassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, calling him "a terrific danger" bent on exporting Communism and Islamic extremism across the Americas.

"If he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it," Robertson told viewers on his "The 700 Club" show Monday. "It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war." Watch video of Robertson's comments

That's taken out of context a bit. But he shouldn't have said that. In context, what he was saying is that if we do intend to do a "regime change" in Venezuela, that we should start by plugging him.

Which is still a nutty thing for a Christian guy to be saying. :o

who cares? he's just a person speaking his mind and the media is making a smear campaign out of it. Where is the news media when Ted Kennedy makes all his nutty comments and Cindy and Michael Moore make all their insane comments? They just ignore it. This hour report of Pat is just the product of a biased news media. Whats stupid is our a-hole news media thinks the whitehouse should comment on it and denounce it.. Who cares!!! Hes just a citizen using his freedom of speach just like liberal nuts do. :rolleyes:
