Are you honoring X-Plan on GT Mustangs? Dean from Don Davis is?

We are still not honoring X-plan on GT's. If we get more inventory in at once, we might.
I called over to Don Davis and spoke to them. They were unable to say that they would sell a GT at X-plan, but said they had in the past and it was a possibility.

Are you interested in buying a GT now?

We are honoring X-plan on all V6 Mustangs.

west way will offer x plan as well, you just have to look for dealers that actually want to sell cars to get it.

We are the #2 Mustang Dealer in the country. If 06 GT's keep coming in and we actually have some sit for any length of time, we might start honoring X-plan. Right now it still doesn't make sense.

I promise we want to sell Mustangs, and we do so better than any dealer in this part of the country.

I saw a bunch of new mustangs at a Ford dealership in Cleburn this last weekend. They had GTs and V6 models. If someone is looking; they might find one out there. Sorry, I don't know what the name of the dealership is.

They used to be #1 in volume in Texas, but they weren't that high in Mustang sales. Now they are #3 in volume behind Five Star and Planet in Houston.
Your probably right about your description of their staff. ;)

We have plenty of V6's and we are honoring X-plan on all of them.
We are actually having alot of success selling our GT's on E-bay. We have a couple 06's that are pretty rare, so the Ebay guy put them on yesterday. He's already getting offers from other dealers. Wierd huh?

i never doubted that, but I am saying look around and you will find a dealer that will honor it. if that means you miss out on a sale that is your fault for not trying to out sell somebody else. west way offered me a hell of a deal for vert gt but I am too far upside down on my truck to even do it. and I don't care for west way I am just saying that offered me xplan 3 different times I have gone up there while getting something for my truck on lunch break.

I understand. I hate to miss a Stanger's business for any reason. The store just looks at it as we aren't missing anything since we are selling all of them at sticker.

OK, I have to chime in on this one. From what I understand the X-Plan discount is something that Ford as a Corporation offers to the employees of companies that Ford has some sort of business relationship or partnership with. I know that the acceptance of the X-Plan is at the discretion of the individual dealership. How though can you consider your dealership to have any sort of integrity when you pick and choose when you want to honor the X-Plan discount? Either you are an X-Plan dealer or you are not. I have worked sales my whole life and have prided myself in keeping my customers best interests first. I cannot fathom having customers stay with my company if I had a discount program that I only honored when it benefited me.

On a side note my current company is not X-Plan eligible. So I really don't care if you do honor the X-Plan program, but how you represent yourself as a dealership does effect where I will purchase my Mustang.

We are the #1 X-plan dealer in the World. The plan has always been offered by Ford with the dealer having the option to honor it. Yes, some dealers do not honor it on anything. However no dealer honors it on everything, all the time. X-plan was offered on the Ford GT. No dealer honored it. There have only been a few vehicles in the last ten years we didn't honor it. They were high demand vehicles that were bringing too much money to just pass on. Simple business decision we rarely make, but will when it make sense.

You said it best yourself, "were bringing in too much money". For me it still comes back to a customer service issue. Making a decision because it's the right thing to do for your customers. It's not like every customer that comes through your door is on the X-Plan, you are still making money on an X-Plan sale, and if you did everything else right you will have a customer that will come back and refer others. In honoring the X-Plan you are just giving the customer what the Ford Motor Company has offered to them. I am sorry if I am oversimplifying this, but it's basic customer service to me. I have been in contact with Marisa in your sales department and she has been very helpful and I was close to placing an order for a Mustang. I am very glad that I came across this site though because it has allowed me to see what kind of dealership Five Star really is and saved me from making a mistake.

IMHO, there are many more deciding factors on where I do business than the price of the car. I am a big believer in customer satisfaction and service after the sale. I'm not going to badmouth any of the other dealers that have been mentioned but I am sure if you ask around on the site you will find that 98-99% of the guys that have come into Five Star to do business with us have left very happy whereas you will hear some very interesting horror stories about the others.

Yes price is important. Right now I can not change the way we are pricing the cars. Sorry....nothing I can change. But what I can promise is a happy ownership experience. We have one of the highest owner satisfaction ratings of any dealer in the US. If you really want the mustang and you don't want to spend the extra $40 a month a GT costs at sticker vs X plan .....just wait a bit until the demand dies down and you'll have it. That's all I've got.

Skipp and Ryan

This will be my last post on this subject. I apologize to everyone else if it has already gone on too far.

If you read back to my other posts you will see 2 things.

1. I am not X-Plan eligible so I really don't care about the discount.

2. My issue is with the integrity of your dealership if you are going to honor a Ford Corporate discount program only when it benefits you to do so. This is something that I am sure goes way above your position. I don't expect you to be able to change it and I'm not asking you to go to your boss and question them on it.

So you are telling me that you just signed up this month to talk a bunch of shit to the ONLY ford dealership that has signed up to help DFWstangs, and the first dealership of any brand for that matter.

I am not bad mouthing any dealer either. I bought my truck from skip and marisa and am happy with it, though I wanted the mustang it just wasn't out yet and I needed a car so I bought something I could use at that time.

I just stated if price is what someone is looking at there are options. I bought my last mustang from west way and I got lucky I didn't get fucked when I totaled my car, casue west way didn't offer gap to me, or anybody else that bought a car there. i ended up being upside down only 700 so I got lucky. skip hooked me up for my truck he went above and beyond on my deal. and I have sent about 4 people up there 2 bought trucks, though they didn't mention my name as a referal when they did  but they both got new trucks from 5star after I told them what skip did for me.

I would love nothing more than buy a black gt no spoiler with 18's 5spd leather seats from skip and co but that would take an act of god to get me out from being upside down on my truck.

For those who are interested in getting the best price on a new 05 GT, I bought a GT 5 speed last night at Westway for almost $3k below MSRP sticker price without using the X-Plan. I was in and out in 2 hours leaving a very happy customer. Ask for Oscar and he'll take care of you.

I'm up at westway now and I call bullshit on this. they are running the numbers by me and there is no way you got it for 3k under msrp. they even offered to show me the deal. the most they will do is sticker! if you can't pass on a valid deal, don't speak!

Ok, met Joe98 up at westway. Ended up working with the original salesman i talked to and Oscar. The original salesman thought he had a 05 for me but it actually was an 06. Got a good deal on my SRT-4 for trade in, and on top of that, 2k under sticker for a primium 06 GT with the red leather interior. Hell of a guy to work with, and pretty much didn't have to haggle at all. The only haggling i had to do was on my trade in. Joe98 was right, they are selling under sticker there, and i walked out happy.. My car is to be shipped from oklahoma monday adn in the mean time, they are letting me pimp a 05 silver vert. v6 car, but only had 100 miles on it. not too shabby, But if you go up there, make sure to talk to oscar only, as he knows whats going on.

Joe, thanks for helping me out and meeting me up there this morning. Good to meet ya and very nice car.. can't wait to get mine. mmmmmm red leather! lmao

Tom, glad they gave you a good deal on the 06. I guess I should have gotten a 06 instead of a 05. Anyone else going up there, make sure you talk to Oscar, he's a good guy and gets you a very good price the first time around, none of this going back and forth crap and sending out the manager to talk to ya. BTW, I don't work for Westway, just wanted a new stang and didn't want to pay sticker price for it.

$3K under is quite a bit, but I got them to offer me X plan which was about $2100 off sticker. Good deal there, but they really wanted to hand it to me on my trade in. They only wanted to give me $18K for my '04 Tahoe w only 9K miles on it...and wouldn't budge. Guess since they were willing to give me Xplan, they were going to make up for it somewhere else. The sucker salesman has been calling me once a week for the last 3 weeks now to ask if I've changed my mind.
