Ok so my buddy buys my moms car (99 z28 six spd black, black leather, t-tops, 36k for 8500) so any how I always thought the car was abnormal but DAMN! He put Magnaflow and a lid on this thing and so far he has beat the following:C6, any ls1 from a ws6-firehawk, 05 GT’s, twin turbo RX7 (modded)., His only loss was to a modded z06 ( and that was only by a fender) . I have videos of many of the races so I know he is not just pulling my leg. Dose any of this make sense how could that car beat so many superior cars?

but i've heard similiar stories from him because he owned a 99 t/a with one of those cams and he claimed it to be a "freak"

Yes, it makes sense. For one thing, your mom sold that car WAAAAY to cheap! You should driving it, not him. Some of those cars can put down 320 to the wheels without mods. With a few mods, 335-340 rwhp. If he can drive, it'll run pretty good. I don't race much anymore, but I've "played" with '05 GT's, and didn't have a lot of trouble. Haven't tried the others, but it's possible.

My 2001 SS hit 305/321 with the paper filter and automatic tranny. My friend down in Austin bought his 2002 TA brand new and it hit 316/32X with the dealer tags still on it.

Some of the older ones like the old Mach 1's and of course the Shelby series stangs.

As for the LS-6 crap in the F-bodies. The only truth to that that I've heard is that they would put an LS-6 intake on some of them because GM didn't produce enough LS-1 intakes or something to that effect. Everything else was regular LS-1 stuff though.

with 313rwhp and 371 rwt I ran a 7.8 1/8....12.1 1/4 with few little bolt ons

I had several big-block stangs that had some horses, but the best part was all the torque! Had a J-code 429 Ram Air car that was rated at 375, and actually put out over 340 rwhp. It also had 450lbs of torque! It was hard to find dyno's 20+ years ago, but had it done by Mike Black at South Austin Auto Parts.

and about dyno numbers.. i believe the lowest dynoed bone stock ls1 was at 2.78rwhp and the highest dynoed bone stock (down to filter) dyno was 335ish or so. :eek:

They finished up my cam install, LT w/ x pipe, Vararam, LS-1 Edit and a few minute mods.
The car ran like a completely new car after I got it back.
I would recommend them to anyone.

man, they're the best around bar none. they tuned 30 rwhp out of my car with the air intake. you could eat off the floor in that shop. and the service is top notch. they did my pre-purchase inspection for me, did this tune and intake, and i had it back a couple weeks ago for the lowering. and the guy that heads up the shop has a separate business with Z accessories. bought an awesome partition from him. they have cars from all over the country that people ship to them to work on, so there's always some kick azz vipers and vettes in there.

the cam/headers? i was looking at thier 500hp h/c package that puts down
450rw, but it's a couple more grand than i have to throw around right now.

It is a little less than 425 rwhp.
I went with a small cam for reliability issues.
I got a really good deal on all the work up there.
John worked with me through all my struggles with getting the car there and picking it up.
You should check out MTI's head/cam packages.
They have some really good deals and are located in Houston.
A friend of mine from AZ got his car shipped to 21st and got their head/cam package and dynoed at 450+ rwhp.
Another friend got the TT 650 package on his c5...talk about nasty!
He had to drive it back in the rain to MI too.

2001 and up LS1's come with the LS6 intake. and some 2001 and up LS1's come with the LS6 block, not LS6 heads or LS6 cam, just the block. Its not stronger it's just a different block that has better oiling and PCV set up.

Nope it really makes 345 rwhp. and i wish it was 2600lbs. this is my daily driver we're talkin about here. it tips the scales at a hair under 3000 lbs.

Hey guys this is the guy this all started over. Yes I do agree that this car is faster than most with the same mods, but you also got to think it was driven by his mom(rarely ragged on except for when David and his dad had it, lol) and only has 40k on the clock. Point being that this car is in great shape(except for some small things) and hasnt been ragged out like others. Now I have to clear some things up, 1st- I didnt beat a C6, I lost, my front bumper at his back and it is on video 2nd - I have beat every LS1 I have gone against with equal or minor mods(we arent talking about full bolt-ons) the one car I have beat with the most mods was a T/A with midlengths, cat back, lid, filter, and pulleys 3rd - The ZO6 had longtubes, x-pipe and cat back, and didnt beat me by a fender, we only got to race from 1-3(my trans fucked up going into 3rd so I let off) and I was about 1/2 a car from his back bumper and he was probably going to pull more. But everything else is true, I did beat a twin turbo Rx7(4 times) and it is on video, and I have beaten some other cars that I thought would stomp me. I am up for any race , I mean my last one was a Del Sol just cause I was bored and I enjoy racing, I dont care who wins or loses, its all for fun. As for the guy with the Z06, I have no prob racing you, it will be fun, but dont think I am saying I will win cause I would be lying. All my car has is Magnaflow cat back, SLP lid, Filter, and descreened the MAF. So its whatever for me but I work until 11 at night so just let me know.
