I would say to get an LG 19in LCD (have to find model no.)
or get a Dell 2005FPW or 2405FPW both of those are bad ass!

the other thing is that i do a lot of gaming so it would need to perform well there too, I know CRT's are much better for refresh rates and gaming but i want more room

With the newer LCD's ghosting isn't much of a problem.
Any LCD with a refresh rate lower than 16ms would eliminate ghosting.

The one thing is with an LCD if you use the DVI connection (which you should if you have the option to), is you'll get tearing in FPS games, even with a fast response time.
It's because DVI is limited to 60hz, but the picture quality is WAY better than analog(15 pin).

Also you have to consider how well the LCD reproduce the color Black, it's very noticeable when it comes to dark games, and blacklight bleeding.

Also, if you opt for any of the Dell LCD's I mentioned 2405FPW/2005FPW make sure you rig is capable of playing games at that high of a resolution. Because with an LCD, any other resolution than the Native one, looks distorted (At least in my opinion).

The Dell LCd's are great for gaming and Video Playback. The LG (again I have to find the right model no.) is very good also. Please keep in mind that the Dell ones I mentioned are Widescreen LCD's.

Not really distorted, so to speak, at non-native resolutions... it would be better discribed as slightly "blurry".

With LCD's, they always display at their native resolution, so for example my Dell 2001FP's native is 1600x1200, if I run a game at 800x600, the monitor still runs at 1600x1200, so the game can either run in a small box in the center of the monitor at 800x600, or it can be "stretched" to 1600x1200 to fill the screen, but with a slight blurriness due to the picture being blown up. It's an option under display properties, that you can have the monitor either display non-native resolutions centered on the screen with black borders, or stretch it to fill the screen.

Obviously the closer to the native resolution you run, the better it will look.

To be honest though, unless you run games at 800x600, it's not all that noticible... and it's kinda like having AA turned on, without having to take the performance hit :D But seriously, the only time I really notice the blurriness is if I alt-tab out of a game, and it doesn't switch my desktop back to 1600x1200 or 1920x1200 (on my laptop) imediately. I usually play games at 1280x1024 (desktop) or 1280x800 (laptop).

well i've been looking around and there are a lot of good reviews on the 2005fpw, and it seems that you can find it on the streets for ~$400, but dell ran promo codesfor a little while that you can get it for $390 shipped but they don't have the offer right now i may wait till they run another one and pick one up...

Looking forward to trying WOW out at 1680x1050 if my card can handle it lol
