First run was embarrassing, a 1.4xx light YUCK. Ended up running a 8.86 at like 82. I don't have the slips here at work.

Second run was about the same, I was playing with my launch RPMs.

Third run was my best of the night but nothing stellar. .75 light ran 8.64@83.

Some of you probably saw me embarrassing myself, this was at redline on Saturday night. I was over with all the GN guys cause I have known them for awhile. Here's the run down on the car.

2003 GT 5-speed
Saleen Series IV S/C with upgraded pulley 10psi max
Steeda Adjustable upper and lower control arms
Eibach Drag Springs
Bassani Exhaust from headers to tips

This car Dynoed at 340 in Colorado but when I took it to LG (only place I could find that could do it that day) it only went 328 (it was pretty hot).

Besides heads and cams what else can I do?

Yeah I know I was spinning them quite a bit I had 60's of like 2.11 best was a 2.0x. I have the Nitto 555 DRs on and they are all right but I think I will get a couple of real drag tires for the track.

the lowering springs probably arent helpin much either.. get some 70/30's or 90/10's up front and 50/50's in back... i did that along w/ un hooking my sway bar (at the track then hooking it back up afterwards) and dropped my 60' from a 1.97 to a 1.72...

It was a stock looking car but had a roots style blower on it. Caught a glimpse walking by before he shut the hood.

Thats the one. I like that it looks stock and will keep it that way for awhile. I like the sleeper look. I do need to get some new wheels. Everyone is telling me to go black with a a chrome outer ring. Besides until its a bit faster I will feel like I am ricing it. I just got it and I am trying to get back into things, my last Mustang was a 95GT with a few mods but I sold it when I started a divorce  . Is the Mckinney GTG any good? Thanks for the advice, as I get used to it, it should only get better.

You just need more practice.. Last Wednesday at Kennedale I matched my best with 8.86 @ 78. 60' was around 1.98. (Also got 8.87, and a couple 8.9's - 9.02) That is with the following:

04 GT
CAI
SLP Catback
UDP's
Predator Tune
3.73's
Nitto 275 40 R17 DR's on stock Bullitts
Everthing else is stock (Midpipe w/ cats, stock suspension, full weight minus spare tire *but I weight 260)
I dyno at a weak 240 rwhp

I know guys running well into the 7's with just over 300 on DR's. I bet you could too.

Get there early and work on the lights, don't have to run a full pass if you don't want.Practice and drive it like its stolen. Don't wait on the green. last yellow, by the time it gets from the eyes to the brain to the foot takes a bit of that time.

Wow, i have a a heavy ass car with Eibach Pro-kit, Tokiko Sport 5-Ways, and 18 inch street tires and i pulled a 1.83 short time at the spring cruise.

The cheapest and best advice is practice and experience.

Throw some gear at that beast ! Those mod motors really like to be revved, so don't be scared to put AT LEAST 4.10's in it. I'm sure a Bullitt intake would help as well. Sounds like the exhaust is already well taken care of.

You said you just got the car ? It's going to take some time to get used to the car. After you get some seat time, and get the feel for the car, you should get those times down more and more. Good luck, and have fun !

Did you change the air pressure in your drag radials any ? A lot of the guys on here like around 12-16psi in the tires. The less air you have in the tires, the larger/wider a footprint it has, the more grip ! ;) You might also try playing with that.

Thats true but the guy is using a roots style supercharger so if hes having traction problems right now, imagine it with 4.10s?

Here's what Forresst has to say about that subject. He's a pretty smart guy. ;)

Besides, if he's only making 340-ish to the wheels (no offense), he can surely put enough tire on it to get it to stick.

Well I probably won't go with the 4.10s for the sheer fact that its not a full on race car. Its a daily. I do have a set a 4.10s that came with the car if anyone is interested. Does anyone know where I can get a small nitrous kit, I'm talking like 30-50 shot. I'm not really looking for numbers from it, what I intend on it doing is to cool the air since my (intercooler/heat exchanger) is less than impressive. I figure a small shot won't kill the motor but it will cool the air. Another thing I realized is that I am on the stock MAF, any suggestions on what would be a good replacement for that (how big)? Thanks for the advice guys, lots of knowledge to be had here if you know the right questions to ask (which I don't).

Never fear the gear.

Oh and subframes, better suspension and slicks would never hurt.

Last time i was there, my 2 friends w an 03 cobra and the other an 04 were cutting anywhere from 8.5s down to 8 flats.

One of them makes 500hp 460tq and was getting dominated by the 04 w/470hp 460tq simply because he was running on F1s and the 1/8th mile just isn't long enough for that hp advantage to take over.

So in theory you wouldn't be to far behind a 470hp 04 cobra on 315 nittos.

You might look into the Snow injection kit. It works the same way as no2 but its just windshield washer fluid..

What gears are in it now ? If you're gonna be a pussy, AT LEAST put 3.73's in it. ;) If you do more in town driving, the gears will actually help gas mileage in some cases, because you don't have to give the car as much gas to get it moving, making the car work less.

3.73s are already in there. I guess the biggest mod my car needs is a good driver mod. I almost exclusively drive in the city living in Frisco and working in Plano but I just bought a house in McKinney so once I move there will be more highway time. Right now I tach 2300 at 70mph which is where I like it. If it was a full race car I would have thrown in the 4.10s but this is my daily too. My toy is a '51 Willys Pickup (in the middle of a serious buildup right now, off road monster).

More practice fo sho. When I had my 98gt, with only 3.73's I was running 9.0's at 77.xxx mph.

Since you live in Mckinney, I'll give you lessons cheap;)
