Well I'm getting tired of having my computer connected to my normal receiver using a ghetto wiring job so I'm thinking of getting a nice set of speakers/subwoofer solely for my computer. I'm looking at Altec Lansing and Logitech 5.1 systems, but am wanting to know what ya'll are running and how you like them. I'm looking to spend $75-150

Just bough a Logitech 5.1 THX Surround Sound System.
It's pretty sick. Turn it up about halfway and get complaints from my neighbors. But it was $200 so little high for you. Got to Circuit City and hear them, there is definetly a difference in price and sound when it comes to speakers and 5.1 versus lesser systems

I've got a set of Logitech 5.1's (not sure of the exact model, and not where I can look at 'em right now), that sound pretty damn good. Got them for about $75 around two years ago. I can watch a movie and turn them up until it hurts my ears, and there's no distortion, so I'm happy with them.

I have the Logitech Z-5300e THX 280watt and they rock. Only problem is they are to damn good and I rarely get to use them because they bother everyone in the house. I usually use my 5.1 headphones.

I was given the Logitech X-530 as a gift so that's what I use.
Before that I was using Sennheiser Headphones

from my experiece, altec owns logitec for sound quality, but logitec gets more bang for the buck whgile being cheaper. ie more speakers.
i currently use my home system, big receiver/15 inch woofers and some bose mids/rears.

I'm using a Sony bookshelf stereo system. It comes with a power sub, dual mid-range speakers, with tweeters, 400w system power, 3-disc changer, AM/FM Stereo, dual tape deck, and a graphic eq. it also has a game sync mode, where you can listen to your games, and a cd at the same time, so you can have your own music playing when you play your games. For $180 at Wal-Mart, it's a good system.

Any of you guys wanna take a shot at explaining the difference between Logitech's z-5300 system vs. z-5300e? I can either of them for right at $100 so I'm thinking of going with them, plus the z-5300 has good reviews from people.

Nevermind, looked on Logitech's website and found that the Z-5300 was the old name for the Z-5300e from like 1-2 years ago.

You fools need to go to the First Saturday geek flea market in downtown or start hittin up Ebay. I have purchased SEVERAL HIGH end Altec Lansing speaker systems for under 50 bucks there.....the old ACS-295 system fo 30 bucks...fuckin rocks for a standard stereo speaker setup. The ACS 495 Dolby Pro Logic surround setup..40 bucks...and most recently the THX 4.1 Dolby Digital system..ADA885..for 60 bucks. There is no better bang for the buck than Altec Lansing for the price you can find em for.

I have a Monsoon flat panel 5.1 system at home. Altec Lansing 5.1 at work. It is an older model but has good sound. I liked the Logitech 680 and the replacement, but could not afford them at the time.
