my Penguins have made some interesting deals during the down time
most notable;
Jocelyn Thibault
Sergei Gonchar
Mark Recchi is back
Ziggy Palffy
I hope Mario can still make an impact, hopefully the long rest did him some good.
this should be an interesting (disappointing) season. I hope Sidney Crosby is everything they're saying but if history repeats itself, it doesn't look so good. Time will tell.
So how are everyone's teams looking so far?

I know my Flyers got Forsberg and a few other good players. I see great things for the Broad street bullies this year!
Go Philly :D

Hey Tim, just got word on another board that you guys got Leclair as well.
My Kings got Pavol Demitra (very nice), Jeremy Roenick, not a fan, but he will provide some toughness that Ziggy Palffy lacked. Signed the speedy but soft Valerie Bure. Hopefully the new rules will benefit him and he can contribute. Also re-signed Frolov, Robitaille, Conroy, and a couple of other guys we needed to come back. I'm very excited about this season.

Badass! I was just on the site this morning and didn't even know they were talking to him. I have to say I like the moves they are making.
I've always liked Bure and Roenick can't be beat on Sega NHL95 lol
looks like the Kings may be strong this year, who do you guys have at goalie?

We have 2 young unproven backstops. Right now, the starter is Mathieu Garon. I've been watching old highlight reels from a couple of seasons ago when he was in Montreal. He looks great at times, but he's never played a full season as he was drafted in 2000 I believe. Most of us are optimistic, but it's going to be a wait and see kind of deal. Personally, i'd like a veteran to back up Garon just in case he chokes or struggles. You just never know with goalies, just look at Chokemanek. Brilliant in Philly, a joke with the Kings.
As for the Pens, that is going to be a fun team to watch. I'm getting the NHL center ice package so i'll be tuning in to check out a few games. Wish they were coming to Dallas this year.

I feel the same way with the Pens goalie issues. I wish Hedberg had stayed with them, I thought he was pretty damn good. Signing Thibault makes me feel a little better, I mean he's no Wregget(lmao), but they could do worse. Hell, I liked Aubin too.
It's funny but with all the signings around the league, I have no idea what team I even want to see yet since the Penguins won't be playing here this season and I won't go to a Stars game just to watch the Stars (unless they sign Lemieux) haha

Yea, I got an 8 game package to lock up the 4 kings games here, and then 4 others. Had a hard time picking the other 4. I can usually go to any game to watch, but with all the changes, was tough to choose. I picked Atlanta as i've never seen them play and want to see Kovalchuk(sp?), Minnesota because I'm a fan of Gaborik, Colorado as it would be easy to unload the ticket if I can't go and Detroit as i've never been to a Detroit.

we've already pointed out that you SUCK at predictions
I'm a die hard Avs fan, and I hated seeing Peter leave...but no matter who Philly signs, they won't win the cup without a solid, proven goalie. Colorado won't do shit this year either. Hejduk will be in the top 3 in goal scoring if he stays healthy...but I know Turgeon and Brisbois aren't the same caliber as Foote and Forsberg. My other team, the Coyotes, should be pretty good this year. They've got a good veteran (Brett Hull) to mentor the young guys. It'll be interesting to say the least.

LOL, I heard that the Marketing Staff of the Stars realize that the Mooterus jerseys were a mistake (You know, the cow head in the shape of a Uterus: Mooterus). But they're stuck to a three year contract to keep them as the 3rd jersey. So you'll still see the stars in those crappy jersey's.
