Still not going to make the mavs any better. The Mavs need a big man just like that rangers need pitching. Until either one of those two teams make a big move in that direction, they will always be a step behind everyone else.

fuck doug christie
I think it will be a good player to add. He's a defensive threat and he is not a ball hog unlike fin-dog.

doug cant be signed for 7 days but they have a verbal agreement.
Finley is still a Maverick. The deadline to waive him is Monday. If they do not trade him by Monday then more than likely he will be waived.

He can't officially sign until this week but a verbal agreement was supposedly made.

Found this in the Morning News talking about releasing Finley on Monday.
The Mavericks even have an inbound replacement. Veteran Doug Christie and the team reached an oral agreement on a one-year, $3 million contract that he will sign next week after clearing waivers.
The Mavericks have been working on a trade and are continuing to field offers but haven't found the right fit. If a trade happens, it probably won't come until close to Monday's deadline.
Ideally, the Mavericks would love to send Finley to an Eastern Conference contender. Indiana is a likely suitor based on personnel, barring a multi-team trade.
So looks like Finley is gone and Christie is his cheap replacement.
