I recently installed SP2 and Micorsofts AntiSpyware( on XP Pro), and my cable connection that at one time was fast is so f-ing slow it times out more times than not. I try and ping different URL's and sometimes I get 100% success and other times I get 100% failure and anywhere inbetween. When I open Firefox or IE it will go to 1 or 2 urls ( very slowly ) and then grind to a halt. What the fuck. I have tryied turning off the firewall, deactivating all the anti spyware active services, going thru the task manager and ending process that look as though they could create a problem And nothing works. I have been yelling at my cable ISP, but I don't think that is it anymore. I think it is this f-ing Microsoft stuff. Anybody know how to fix this, or should I just uninstall all this stuff and reinstall XP Pro ( restore) . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Try a restore to a date before you installed SP2...if that doesn't work you can always take it back to after the SP2 installation. If it does the same, then keep bitching at the ISP.

I hope you didn;t upgrade to sp2, that will fuck up ALOT of shit. Its always best to do a fresh install of windows xp with sp2 already with it.
