View Full Version : need java prog.

Like title says. I need to install java, so I go to the java.com site to get plugin. I start DL, it brings up the Windows Installer box, then says: Preparing to install....

I just sits there. Tried it a few times, but same result. Anyone have that program . Need it for Fantasy Football. Doesn't work when I use IE either

tell it to save to the disk first, point it to whatever folder you want it saved to. Once it's done downloading, then go double click on the installer.

I did that too.......SORRY....I forgot to add that once I clicked on auto or if I DL it still needs to install from the server. That's what it looks like to me bcuz when it just sits there, it then says install server not responding. It says that both ways. Been doing this for about week or 2. I just thought it was down at that time...wrong. It does that everytime. I just haven't really needed it till I signed up for Fantasy football

What OS do you have?

What virus scan software?

What version are you trying to download Hopefully not the latest version of 5.

If the downloaded one is still looking for the install server, you didn't download the full install, which is around 14-15 megs.

Your right, I didn't DL full version. Shit was right in my face. That's pretty sad.
Thanks for pointing out that simple problem.


Now that I know, this is for doopie. Whats wrong with 5, cuz I have it DL.

I installed it. I can do my fantasy now. Guess I'll see if I have any problems with it.

latest version of 5 with IE7 and SP2 on XP offers its own host of issues to deal with. Since you have it installed I doubt you have those versions.
