Hmm.. that's strange. I'm not all that impressed with Turco. I think that Bellfour was way better a few years ago than Turco. I don't know, it's been so long since I have seen Stars hockey I may be a little rusty. I just remember seeing Turco in the playoffs and thinking that he sucked
I think hockey is doomed anyways. Look at baseball, the fans STILL aren't around like they used to be before the strike. I was watching the Ranger game yesterday and they said that in Toronto they used to have 4 million fans a year watch their games at their home field, now they don't even get half that anymore.

I can't wait till hockey starts up again. Its the only sport I can stand to watch.
Belfour was an agreesive player.
Turco was not so agressive back then but is now getting their taking after Bellfour.
Turco is an awesome goalie, on top of his game he as just as good as Belfour

I thought we got rid of him cause of his drinking issue. or was i miss informed?
well who knows for sure, but you could tack on aging goalie and big salary, not to mention we had some other good prospects for goalies...i.e. turek and turco.

Not that Turco isn't a good goaltender, but it seems strange that he made the cover considering theres 100 more notable athletes in the NHL. It makes almost as much sense as putting Desmond Howard on the cover of NCAA 2006 (even though he was the first to do the Heisman pose after a TD).
Turco has natural skill and awesome vision of the ice and positioning. I'm not a Stars fan by any means, but you've gotta give praise where praise is due. He's no Patty Roy or Ed Belfour, but he's definitely in the top 6 or 7 in the league. He's still pretty young too, give him a couple of years and with a good D he'll win 30 games every year. Its about time some hockey fans post something on this site.

Here's the thing...TorchRedStang hit the nail on the head. If you've watched him in the playoffs...he chokes. Regular season he is unbelievable....playoffs...he has a shitty playoff record.

Agreed, but I thought he only played in the P/O's once and got smoked! His potential is still better than Belfour who is inconsistent.

I heard that when you start this game it just has a bunch of empty arenas and Mike Modano offers to wash your windshield for spare change

If it's anything like 2K5 it will freeze periodically and never advance in the playoffs. I swear to God, I will drive to Bristol and fuck someone at ESPN up if this game is as flawed as 2K5 was.

If you do up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, select, start, he'll do it topless.

He played in the 02-03 playoffs when we lost to Anaheim in the 2nd round and in 03-04 when we lost to Colorado in the 1st round. I really don't blame it all on him though, we need some enforcers in front of the net.

Turco is like the Dirk Nowitzki of hockey.. fantastic in the regular season but gets schooled like a little bitch in the playoffs...

I predicted Turco would be a badass before he was a badass. It's a shame he sucks so bad in the playoffs, but i'm kinda glad seeing how I don't like the stars and all. I think he'll eventually come around though. Lot of pressure on him after having that stellar season.
