placement of cust box?

I have a 94 2 dr yukon. I plan on making a box for either two 8's or two 10's. Haven't decided yet( JL Audio will be used). Anyway's, how big of a difference in sound if I were to put the box underneath the backseat versus behind the backseat (speakers facing back window). I would like to put it underneath so no speakers will show.
Will it still sound ok underneath or am I sacrificing too much sound. Need some help, never dealt with putting subs in SUV's

It can be made to sound good in a downfire, but it will play deeper in my opinion with less floor rattle if its pointed towards the rear.

If you put your subs in the middle of your vehicle it will not sound as good. The sound waves will be traveling both to the front and rear of the vehicle and you will probably get some cancelesation. Put them in the rear facing the back so that the sound waves are all travelling the same direction.

I kinda figured that, but I didn't know how much I would lose, or if it would even sound good. I just didn't want anything to show. Guess their gonna be facing the back then.
