Riding home last night from work (11:30pm) I decided to take 360 South from 114 as they opened up some of the highway there and thought it would be a nice change of scenery from the mundane 114. Anyway, turning onto 183 I saw an R1 on the side of the road and stopped to see if he needed any help. He was OK, just ran out of gas and he had someone already coming out to help him.

If I was in my SuperCrew and saw someone broke down in a car I probably wouldn't have helped them. But a fellow rider I would have. Just curious but has anyone else on here ever stopped to help a fellow rider?

We have stopped to help a few people. Have fixed a few bikes on the side of the road also. They were very grateful. I know I would want someone to help me if I was broken down. I have also went and picked up a few people that have called me and said they broke down or just ran out of gas. I am just glad I can help.

If you ever see me, I'm not really broke down. Just on a slow ass Vtwin and it just appears as though I am stopped. But really, I am at full throttle :D

I always stop to help a fellow rider out. If they're in a car, it better be one damn good lookin lady to get me to stop, otherwise I keep driving.

LOL I know what you mean.... I was riding a Buell and could not keep up no matter how far I twisted the throttle. So when they did stop and I caught up, I told Greg PLEASE slow down because I can't keep up. I ended up making him trade bikes with me... hehehehe...

You have to stop, it's law. When my first clutch went out on my 10, I made it part of the way home and I had several bikes stop.

It's like being out at the lake, you have to tow someone back to dock if they break down.

By the way, in case anybody doesn't know, John (Hurley) is a badass dude, thanks again for helping me out in a tight spot.

Iv stoped a few times to help.On my bike and in my truck. Both times it was because they had ran out of gas. Last time i did there was a guy on an R1 stoped on the Granbury road exit ramp heading west. He said he had ran out of gas so I told him Id run up to the gas station and get him some gas. Well I ran up there and bought a gas can(needed one anyway) pumped a few dollars worth then went back and he was gone. Doesnt mean I wont stop again though. At least now Iv got a gas can and the few dollars worth went right into my gas hog.Ill stop every now and then to help people on the side of the road when Im in a vehicle. I have learned my lesson about telling people Im a mechanic on the side of the road though. They instantly want to know if I ll go run to a parts store, fix their car and do it for 15$ cause they dont have any cash. I dont mind helping people out but damn dont try to take advantge of someone that helping you out.

I never tell anyone I'm a mechanic anymore, my favorite response is "Oh your a mechanic, let me let you look at my car".

i broke down a lot on my r6. only once did an odler guy in his truck stop to help me. other than that, i saw lots of bikes pass me on the highway and none stopped for me.

ive never had a chance to stop for anyone else. anytime i see a bike on the side of a road, it is usually a group of them. so there is no reason for me to stop. but i definately would stop for someone in need of help.

Yes, up at Turner Falls a couple months back a guy on a Harley had laid it down and slid into a ditch and me and my son pulled him out and he was ok but the bike had about 500 in bent parts.

Did it this afternoon on I-20 around 7pm. Some guy on a Suzuki TL-1000 said it started running crappy coming up the hill from Grand Prairie and then just stopped. He said he just picked it up from Dallas Honda a few days ago. He said the motor wouldnt turn over. I walked over and checked it out. First ....theres hardly any oil in the motor at all. Second....he didn't understand that the starter will not turn the engine while its in 5th gear and the stand is down. He said he was sittin there for about an hour. I clicked it down into Neutral and it fired right up and ran great. I told him to take it home...put some oil into it and that it would be ok.
