Man, this heat is killing me!
Took the Ducati out yesterday afternoon, and good god! I was sweating my ass off the entire ride!

Anyone that thinks they want a Duc, you might want to take into consideration that they will COOK YOUR ASS!! :D

I remember sitting in 5:00 traffic on my 900rr and baking, then the fans kick on and blow that heat right on my freakin legs turning them into crispy critters. Sucks! But i guess this beats being in Arizona.

How does a mesh jacket help cool off a person's ass?

Nick Chapman

A regular bike is hot in the summer heat. But, the Ducati's are EXTREMELY hotter! As if the exhaust under your ass wasn't enough, some wise ass engineer thought it would be funny to strategically place the catalytic converter directly under your ass! This up's the temps quite a bit! So, your mesh jacket won't do shit for you on this bike!

But, I guess the Duc's weren't made for comfort.

Yamaha hasn't done any better with the '04+ R1. Those bikes have a heat transfer problem regarding the undertail exhaust. Your right thigh gets scorched from the heat.

have you ridden one? I've never had any problem with my thigh getting any hotter than the rest of me. However my lower leg on both sides gets to approximately 1000000000 degrees in traffic with the fans on.

My ZX10 disipates heat very poorly......It's hot as heck on that thing, but it cools down quickly at 180 and it gets there quicker than anyone on this forum.....lol. j/k.

Yup, felt like the heat was worse with shorts on (I was being squidly by not wearing jeans) and fucking burned the shit out of my thighs whenever they touched the pegs

Form over function, much like anything else that we enjoy that looks nice. My grandfather always said:" I don't give a shit what it looks like, as long as it goes up and down the road." I told him that I had to have both, or it wasn't worth my trouble...

Ride a new R1

I have rode a new R1. Actually a 2005 model. My Duc is probably at least 20-30 degrees hotter on the seat than the R1.

I don't think you guys quite understand how hot this thing gets. I can make it about 30 minutes on it durning the day, then I have to pull over and let my ass cool off! :D

I would need to go on a serious diet if I were riding. I weigh about 185lbs + 20lbs in gear. Rich weighs ~140 after eating a full meal. With the right person, it would probably be pretty close.
