I have a strong postion when it comes to reading the Bible, I always tell people they must dig deep, understang the culture, time period, and history or the era. And here is a prime example...http://www.cresourcei.org/dead.html

I have never believed in "Hell" as most do....after reading the Bible and researching the topic for myself(The Case for Christ, The Case for Faith amongst others) all I could, this article was just an other chip in my corner as far as I am concerned. Not to mention I get the Word preached to me by one of the best, Matt Chandler.

Take a look.

Hell is a real place just not a place of eternal torment that many believe it to be. Jesus went there after His death and took the keys of death and hell.

well this is a example of the same word "hell" bein used for many different places.

The "hell" Jesus entered is not the place of eternal torment, the place of eternal torment "hell" is reserved for the Devil and his angels and those whose names are not found in the book of life.

Im purposely not using all the different words used, such as hades, gehenna....

Hades, sheol, hell and the grave are all the same in scripture. It is a holding place so to speak. If you remember the parable of the rich man, when he died he went to hell and the poor man was in paradise. Yet they could see each other and speak to each other. This is where Jesus went.

Tartarus, gehenna and the lake of fire are all one in the same and a place reserved for eternity.
