Actually a great turnout. Lots of good people and bad ass cars.

The one manager expressed his concerns about how we take up parking spots from 7 pm to 10 pm. Although most of us order food, we still block off a lot of their spots. Spots that would otherwise earn them maybe 2-3 orders during that time period. The problem was this guy was a dick about it. He came out and yelled out and said all Mustangs and trucks on the far row. No please. No explanation. Nothing. He just came out, barked his commands like a high school gym coach, then walked back into his grease pit. Some people moved their cars. When Ponyboy86 pulled up, the manager came out again and yelled at Ponyboy86 to move his car. Not a good way to greet paying customers.

We stood there wondering wtf was going on. We started discussing alternate locations. Then the other manager came over, apologized, and handed out Free Burger coupons. She said they welcome our business although we do block off several spots that would otherwise repeatedly earn them business. This manager was actually nice.

So, what do you guys want to do?

1) Continue meeting there on Tuesdays and some of us park in the dental office next door.

2) Seek an alternate location for next Tuesday. Maybe they'll miss us. Then stick with this Sonic anyway.

3) Say to hell with this Sonic and never return.

Edit: The DFWstangs special was Mike's idea (NOSRACING). He is now at the Lake Worth store and is willing to get that started again. The current managers at the Beach store don't give a shit about any DFWstangs special.

The first few cars that get there can take up the last row, the one nearest the dental clinic. As non-DFWstangs customers leave that row, our guys can fill in the gaps. Also, if you're not gonna order, please do not take up a drive-in spot. If you're there early (before 8:00) and plan to stay late (after 9:30), consider parking in a non drive-in spot. As the nice Sonic manager said, they appreciate our business but it also blocks other business from coming in.

Buying a coke and fries does not justify taking up a parking spot for 2 or 3 hours, and it sounds like there are people buying fod, but maybe not enough for them to justify shutting downhalf of their parking lot. As long as the prick manager is there, the two options are to A: make sure that more food is purchased, or B: find a location with sufficient additional parking. I'm not their accountant so I have no idea as to what the numbers say, I am just pointing out that I can see why minds may have changed. The new manager is just a retard. The last one loved our business and wants us to move back to him. The image that our gtg portrays is the image that Sonic has wanted to portray since day one. You have to be a dumbass to piss off the group that is bringing you business and is making Sonic look like the place to be.

If you were a business owner and had 30 spots for possible business and people are taking them up just to hang out... would you get mad? I get mad when a bunch of kids come into my resteraunt, sit at my table and get a couple drinks. I may not be busy but I aint makin no money off them and I have to look after them. After that, I have to clean up after them. The DFWstangs crew takes up that whole one row that isnt attached to the building and sometimes most of the left side attached to the building. All those spots are possible spots for business that they are taking up. Not everyone is ordering food, some do, some dont. I felt bad when I left last week for Subway :D

There are a lot of drive-bys between 8 and 10, if you watch all the cars. Look at the faces of the drivers. They all looked pissed that they have no place to stop. They're not gonna get in line. They're gonna drive right out and go to the Whattaburger or another Sonic store.

Coincidentally, I recognized one of the trucks that did a drive-by. It was a friend of mine at work and his wife. I spoke to him this morning and asked if that was indeed him. He confirmed it and said it sucked that they could not stop to get food at 10:00 PM. I told him not to bother on Tuesday nights. We laughed it off.

I understand why "fuckstick" was trying to get us to move to the last row. He wants open spots for eat-and-go customers. His approach of barking out like a wanna-be drill Sergeant was not the best way, but you have to understand why. Let's just be mindful of the place when it gets packed. If it continues to be a problem, we can consider the Sonic in NRH. It's only a block or two away. It's next to the NRH Mall and it has 4-5 rows. This one on N Beach has 3.

this location would be alot easier to get to as well, you could skip all the beach street traffic because this place is right off hwy26. and they have enought parking for 300 cars. there used to be a GTG a couple of years back at the same location with even more cars than that, so i know they can handle it.

I could go either way. I'm all for giving the Beach street Sonic the finger. There are right ways and wrong ways to handle situations, and that manager is a prick, regardless of his motivation.

To me, it seems like the most important aspect of the location is that we need to be able to be outside. Secondary to that, is the price. Scotty's is a cool place, been there before, I'll be back again. That said, I'm not sure how condusive it is to being outside, and it ain't exactly a $3.50 dinner either.

I have the same concerns for Hammers.

Right now, I'm thinking the path of least resistance would be to ditch Beach and give the Basswood Sonic a try. I'll go wherever the group decides though.
