I'm thinking about doing a lone star track day on august 8th at Motorsport Ranch. I'm a total noob to the track cuz i've been riding for a couple of years but never done a track day. If i do it i'm gonna do the riding school there that only costs $30. Is the whole lone star track day thing a good way to get some track experience or is there a cheaper and easier way???

If you take a class to get your CMRA liscense u get two sessions the last one being a mach race which is fun. Then you can go to oak hill for 75 bucks a day. All you have to do is show your CMRA certificate you get whenever you pass the class. And to pass the class you just take an easy written test and just have to keep it on two wheels on the track. :)

I bet CBRJames had a problem with that last part. ;)

thanks for the answers and the amusing dialogue but two more questions.
Anybody got some tips for a first-timer like me. just like imagine you know nothing about track stuff because i really dont know anything. I mean like is there anything special i should bring or do. Also, i'm gotta rent some leathers and the thing they have costs 99 bucks which isnt bad but is there anything else anybody knows that is cheaper

thanks a mucho

As far as "knowing" what to do on the track, the class should teach you everything you need to know. Once you get a few laps in, you can pretty much go from there on your own. As far as leathers, look on Ebay. If you can't find them cheap there, then renting them is going to be cheapest.

What size are you? I've got an old ass set of leathers that would be perfect for a trackday :D I've kinda fell in them............................quite a bit :D:D:D
