I've got a 1985 Macgregor 25 sailboat for sale or trade for a motor boat or sportbike.
This is a clean 25 ft MacGregor with a swing keel.
The boat has an excellent running 4hp Johnson sailmaster motor.
There are four sails, main, jib, genoa and spinnaker. The main, jib and genoa are in serviceable condition and the spinnaker is very nice.
The standing rigging(Cable)is in good condition, the running rigging(rope) needs to be replaced over time.
The hull is in very good condition but does have a gouge on the front of the boat.
I have replaced the swing keel cable about two years ago.
There is a stove/sink unit and a seperate room for a bathroom.
The boat will sleep 4 to 6 and will sail with 6 aboard easily.
I've had the boat for a couple of years and have sailed it in winds up to 30 mph with no problems at all. The boat is an excellent starter boat. The swing keel makes it so much more forgiving in the lakes around Texas with the sand bars and trees. If you get hung up on anything all you have to do is crank up the keel to get moving again. With the keel up you can sail in 1 1/2 feet of water. With the keel lowered it takes 5 1/2 feet.
The boat is very easy to set up to sail and to de-mast if you dont want to keep it at a marina. I trailer the boat when I sail to save on slip and storage fees. It will launch in a normal boat landing very easily.
I replaced the trailer axle and lights about two years ago and put bearing buddies on the axle. The tire are in good condition and the boat tows great.
If your seriously interested I am willing to take you out on the boat to show you the ins and outs of rigging the boat.
You can contact me at the address below.
Thanks,
Lee
