1st time ever at track,

ran 3 times tonight at kennedale, best being an 8.3 but my trap was 87.9 mph
this was a 2.0 60 foot, which i was pleased with given my first time and i this thing has 380 at the wheels and i was on stock rubber. with so much going on forgot to powershift 2-3. i was pretty pleased with this, but given a lot more seat time, and it was 90 degrees, you think i can get this thing in the 7's? there was a guy in an identical setup/car as mine running 8.1-8.2 at 88.8 (i think). we talked and he's powershifting the 2-3. also, i was wheel hopping the entire second gear. literally didn't stop wheel hopping until i shifted to 3rd. at a better track than spinnedale i'm thinking this could have been an 8.1 run with no wheelhop, is that about right?

With sticky tires, and more seat time you will easily be in the 7's. Not too bad for your first time to the track.

Pretty stout. Yeah I bet it has a little more left in it. The wheel hop will kill your momentum.

Fuckin' Z06's.............just kidding,I love 'em.Great times for the first time!Believe me,you wouldn't call it spinnadale during Pro Mods(aheemm...tonite!10th),as far as my expiriences go.Sometimes it's hard to get track time during big races though.Also,the couple of guys I know with high HP C5's,wheel hop is a motherfucker.

a couple guys i talked to say they don't wheelhop 2nd at redline/denton. just going off that, since i haven't ran there. so did this wheelhop all the way through 2nd cost me a tenth or two? if i ran at a stickier track, or had nittos, would this run have been an 8.1 versus an 8.3? that's what i'm thinking but not sure. also, i don't know if the wheelhop cost me any mph? might i have trapped higher too? if so, then some drag tires/wheels it is this weekend. my goal is get this thing in the 7s and daily drive the thing everywhere. based on the 87.9 trap in 90 degree plus heat, i'm thinking 120 trap in the quarter is right around the corner.

Eh 120 is a little high. I trap 95 1/8th and I dont think I could trap 120 in the quarter.

I ran a WS6 that put down about 390 and trapped 91 and pulled out on him. I bet your car still has more MPH in it. I say quarter low 12s at 116 or 117. Just a guess cause I have never felt how hard your car pulls.

i put 3 or 4 cars on a buddy's 911 turbo (911 being bone stock, let me add) from 75 o about 125. i by know means think my car is kick azz by the way, i know there are tons of cars on this site that would put bus lengths on me, i'm just saying it's pretty stout for what it is, it's peak being from a 75-ish roll. oh well, a 117 trap mph in the 1/4 i'd be just peachy with, given my old car trapped 103 with more mods. :(

Next time you wheel-hop, try letting off the gas, then hit it again. Real quick...It's bad, breaks stuff, bends stuff too. A good pedal job could save calling a wrecker. Get the 60ft down, and it will go 7's. There are lots of cars going anywhere from 7.60-7.80 with that MPH.
