Ok, to continue our conversation from ls1 without continuing to jack the thread.....
So are you saying that the 01 Gixxer 1k vs the 01 R1 is the same comparison? Or did i just miss what you were saying?

im just laughing at the quote that gixxers are "real" bikes. they are a good bike, no doubt, but no better then an R1, especially '01 vs '01
p.s. i like v-twins

The '01 GSX-R1000 puts out more hp and torque than an '01 R1

I never said that. BUT, do you remember back in the day when Formula Xtreme was with the liter bikes? When the gixxer1k entered that class, it couldn't be stopped. Yes other bikes would catch up, and sometimes pass it in the corners, but not by much. Then, the gixxer would come back, and end up winning it.
Now, fast forward to present day. World Superbike.....what bike can't be stopped? I'm not knocking the R1 at all, i like the bike, but i would buy a gixxer over an R1. And 01 vs 01 models, the GSXR owned all of the liter bikes.

No they're not. The '01 GSX-R1000 is capable of being very fast in the curves.

Honestly, the 2001 GSXR1000 was brutal when it was introduced, just like in 1999 when the R1 was brought out. There is always a "hot bike".

If I could go by any new 600 right now it would prolly be a 600rr. A liter bike I would have to choose the 1000rr.

I would have to go with either the R6 or 600RR

I thought you don't like bikes that are underpowered for their combustion-chamber size?
