well, i was pulling the pedal assembly out of the car this afternoon in the driveway and happened to notice this blue wire with two butt connectors on it. thinking it odd that GM would use butt connectors and black electric tape on a wire that wasn't included in any of the wiring harness for the car i checked it out...it lead to a 20AMP relay, EXACTLY like the ones that NX includes with their wet efi nitrous kits, exactly like the one from the kit on the truck. what's this mysterious wire and relay doing under the dash of my supposedly never sprayed car, and why were the other ends of the wire leading to under the hood where the solinoids were mounted...err, would have been mounted if it were indeed a nitrous kit wire setup. it was posted MANY times by lane that the car was never sprayed, i'm sure i could interest a lot of people by that statment if i had some pictures of oh say 2 or 3 severly damaged stock pistons. any help would be greatly appreciated guys. thanks.

I was just bullshiting about the switch....who knows what the relay was for. They might have tryed nitrous on the car at one time, who knows. When I first tuned it ALONG time ago, It made 32x-330rwhp when it was near stock, and thats the last I ever delt with the car. I didn't appear to have nitrous then at all..

Broken pistons on a n/a motor are kind of odd but possible. I broke 3 plugs and melted two in a motor once with a jacked up ignition map, if they were stock pistons I'd imagine they would have broken.

i never sprayed my car EVER...i WAS going to put a kit on it, but i never even bought it. it was about the same time as the TH400 went in and the pain in the ass of gathering parts for that made me decide not to do it just yet. i was planning on putting a kit on it with the cam swap and that's when we discovered the broken pistons. Daniel and many others can attest that i never had a bottle on/in the car. why did he remove the fan switch mike...doesn't really make sense...

You had a kit on the truck that you borrowed for your car!!!!!!!!!!! Because the truck wasnt running and probably still isnt, you used that kit to play with something that did run.

He removed the fan switch b/c it wasnt of any help to him besides killing a battery in the staging lanes. Look at your fuse box under the hood and you will have your answer. There are some pigtails still left there connected to 1 or 2 of the 3 main relays for the fans. :rolleyes:

Lane was lighter w/ tubular front end and he 60' better than me. Lane ultimately ran low 7.3s at Kennedale. I went on to run 7.26. Of course those guys ran great times at Hallsville but, on SLP day we went to Ennis and Lane ran high 11s and I ran 11.5s

Lane never sprayed. Ya'll quit making stuff up.

With an ideal stall Sneaky, you can get a fairly decent weighted car at 3300 lbs to run deep 11's before opening up the motor. Thats been proven many many times. I ran 11's 3 years ago and chiseled my way down to a 11.32@119 before i gave up and put a cam in the car.

As Mike said - I had wired up a fan switch a loooong time ago and it over heated when I accidentally left it on one time - so I revoved it. Had it wired from the fuse box to a power wire/spot right under the steering wheel - per some instructions I got off of installuniversity.com or somesuch. I never removed the wire which still runs through the door(or did when I sold the car).

Matt - I have no idea what happened to your motor. Only you, and maybe some of your friends - if you still have any - do. When I sold you the car, it was running as good as it ever had - and you know it. If you want to blame me - fine, if it makes you feel better.

As for everyone else that thinks that I got my times in the car spraying it - I'll take that as a compliment! :D

well, it was 80% leak down in 1 cylinder that we checked...we stopped there since it was junk with 1 cylinder at 80%. when i pulled the motor apart several weeks ago i discovered the two broken pistons. i'll get some pics for ya if you'd like. the car ran just as good the day i pulled it into the shop as it did the day i backed it out of your driveway. i never accused anyone of anything, i asked for clarification. i never imagined that i would sue anyone or anything like that, i could care less at this point, but clarification is nice on something like that. the motor would have come out of the car and been useless at some point regardless of it's condition so now is just as good as later.

Like I said Matt - I don't have a clue what happened to the motor. It sucks that it did happen, but as you know - that goes with racing.

The car wasn't using any oil, and was running as good as ever - running a 7.38 at Kennedale the last time I had it at the track. If I was concerned about anything when I sold you the car, it would have been the tranny - ONLY because it had 40,000+ miles on it, and I had raced it so much with a high stall TC(30,000 miles or so). Not because it was acting up in any way.

If you want to rig up that fan switch, everything is already there - but the switch. :)

the transmission was definatly very solid, it's been in another car for about 6 months now with a g5xsomething cam with pretty good results from what i've heard. and the pt4200 is in a SI trans am now...it runs pretty good from what i've heard, he's asked me about buying that big cam i bought for the Z...it would be NASTY with that stall and the right tuning.
