Does anyone have experience with ICON gear? I am thinking of buying a ew jacket and gloves from them and I want some of your real world feedback. I want to know how their jackets stack up as far as safety, craftsmanship and comfort. Thanks!

John

They look cool but, I think that's all they have going for them. I have the pants but, I don't expect too much from them. Their jackets look thin and not much armor to them. Over priced and "fad-ish" IMO

I have the Icon mesh jacket, and I like it. Not a lot of protection like JC said. But, thier mesh jacket is pretty good, and thicker than most that vent that well.
On a scale from 1-10, I would give it about a 6 maybe a 7.

I just bought a Motoboss Mesh from Cyclegear this week. IMO it vents well and has good armor. Better than the ICON. :)

I have the Icon Motorhead jacket and Icon gloves. I think the leather is thick!! Fit is great, and they look good too!! As far as the armour, I think it's as good or BETTER than any of the other brands!!
I think it's a quality product!!

I'm not sure about mesh jackets, I have a Dainese mesh. :p

I don't man. You must not have felt FieldSheer's gear. They are about the only ones (with the exception of this Motoboss I just bought) that have great, thick forearm and back protection. Even the Dainese I felt had minimal back protection. FS and MB have some hard back padding, standard.

Never had or know anyone with icon, all the riders i know, including me, have FS... i more than love it and would have paid more that what they ask for the products i have from them.

my mesh jacket is thin, liked id really expect a mesh jacket to be worth a shit in a crash though. It has some decent hard armor AND leather in the elbows, super light weight, im happy for 100 bucks

I had a helmet that sucked, i have some gloves that the wrist closure is coming apart on, and I have a fieldsheer jacket that i purchased second hand, that hasn't given me a single issue.

I won't be purchasing ANYTHING icon again.
