I couldn't help but ask what are some 1/8th mile times people are running on their bikes here? With Tamestang acting like Rainman constantly asking everyone who dares defy him about the v-twin issue if they "wanna race" :D . I just thought it would be nice to hear some honest times and maybe what you could have done better or different to change or improve your performance.
I know that when I first started drag racing cars the more I listened and applied the faster I went and better advice I was able to give. So share your opinions and knowledge.
I even call on the almighty Tamestang to grace us with unbiased opinions and what have you. :D (sarcasm intended)
Send pics to, show off your ride!

Dude if you have some kind of drag bike why would you even waiste your time with a punk kid on a 600?
Me I just take off as hard as I can without the front end coming up and hold it WOT till the end and that's how I drag race. Not hard but I'm not that good at it either so ya. Only thing my bike has to make it go faster is a friggin slip-on. I bet a sprocket, PC, lowered, strapped it might could run a 6.6 in some good weather.
Freakin mud on my tire kinda ruined my pic. :(

A twin hasnt beat me to the stripe yet, and I am a nobody on a very common inline 4 cylinder (a twenty year old design)...
Every sanction I race with allows both twins and inlines. Harleys have their own races and wont allow us to race with them. I wonder why that is?

That is a nice looking setup. What are the specs on that motor? Power adder?

Its a 1428 GS Zuk motor. This one is a Nitrous bike but I have a small tire bike that looks just like it. This one has been 4.92 @ 139 this year. Lazer head,12.5 to one Promod Pistons, 420 lift cams, 40mm lectrons, very basic.
Its nothing to write home about really. Off the top of my head I can think of 7 or 8 bikes around here that can smoke me anytime ( none of them are twins by the way) there are probably more than that.
My little tire bike will run 5.3x @ 128. Its normally aspirated.
These are very typical times for in-line 4 cylinder dragbikes.
Twins can go these speeds too... for about 4 times the price.

I know you won't get a street harley to post any times, they are more into the "I make over 100 hp on a dynojunk dyno" thing.

I have a Harley Powered Buell that runs around 7.7s in the 1/8th consistently, it does not make 100 hp it makes about 95 hp. So I guess your assumption was wrong? Do you have any other Harley assumptions I can prove wrong.
Also BCNU if it is so wrong to have Harley only drag events then why is not equally wrong to have mustang or fox body only events in the Muscle Mustang Fast Ford Events? Why do they allow only fox or sn bodied cars in certain races? Because that is the way it is and those are the rules, you have to deal with it. So there are classes, are you the class police? Does it matter, do you feel left out, maybe you feel that you somehow need to feel better than a Harley owner, that is your issue I suggest a good therapist or lots of beer. By the way nice drag bike and congrats on the v-twin win streak.

wow, i'm loosing arguments with people in two forums who don't shim their own valves. I'll think about you guys the next time i pull the handle on the superflow and crank the water to 1300 cc's with a motec making 230 horse N/A. Like i've said before, nobody is gonna argue that a twin doesn't handle better than an inline, the whole argument was power.

No you said

It is not simply asking a question, you made it clear you do not appreciate not being allowed in a Harley sanctioned event. That is like bitching about not being able to race a Vette in the Fun Ford Fastest Street Car event, apples and oranges!

Ok..
Obviously you dont need me.. You can just argue between yourself and whatever it is that you think I am thinking.
I just asked a question, its not my fault if you dont like the answer you came up with...For the record, you missed the point completely. The point I was making is that the twins were tired of getting beat up on by the imports.
I dont want to race with the Harleys. If I did I would build one. Its not that difficult, it just takes a big wad of money.
