I'm riding on the back roads this morning and pass a Keller PD. At the time I was doing 29 on a 30 mph road. He turns around and proceeds to follow me for about 5 miles. Next stop sign I get to I turn left and when he determined he'd harrassed me enough he did a u-turn and went the other way.

you're just lucky that you didn't throw some lugnuts at him, that'd really have made his day.

One, you were in Keller, and they have nothing better to do. And two, yes, what Justin said, you are on a bike. When i ride, everytime i see a cop i get nervous because i know they are going to jack with me, even though i'm not doing a damn thing wrong.

you are in a small town. When I first moved to Sachse, these fuck sticks followed me all the time in my fox. I think once they got know that I live there they quit sweatin me. It was usally late at night that they did it, plus these mofo's would get right on my ass.....Im talkin like 10 ft or so off my rear bumper, the second night in a row they did that to me , I brake checked the shit out of his ass.
I guess cops dont have to follow at a safe distance.

Lol. It's too bad that is still the mindset of the popo. They break more laws then I do. :)

That makes you want to. Same thing used to happen to me when I was 20 something and had a 'Vette. It's pathetic that's all they have to do.

I'll second that! Thats Keller Police for you! I always get nervous driving up 377 going home.

The problem you have is that people who ride crotch rocket type bikes have a high tendency to ride like an idiot. If you are not one who does that, then the cop goes somewhere else. But I have been passed by the idiot who is doing a wheelie at 70 MPH on the freeway and wished he would get stopped.

I never knew a police officer driving behind you was harassment, I thought you had to get detained before it fell into the harassment category.

You've got that right. Keller PD swarm the roads from what I can see. I've travelled alot and don't think I've seen such an aggressive enforcement. I've rode bikes since I was 14, but this is my first sport bike. In the 6 mos that I've had it though, it's the first time they've messed with me.

I grew up in a small town. My graduating class was all of 84 people. If you were to brake for an emergency and he rear ended you, you can bet that the law woud apply then. Most just 'think' it doesn't apply to them because citizens are too afraid to hold them to the same standard we have to follow IMO.

Been there, done that. Good thing about small country towns is that there are plenty of backroads. ;)

Used to have to deal with that when I was younger. They tend to leave me alone now that I'm older. Then again, my car is a 35 year old convertible so they don't view it the same as a fully blown street car.

I stay away from Keller at as much as i can. I do know one of the officers there, but he does warrant arrests. I had to spend a weekend in jail because of those mofo's!

It might not be considered that in court, but if someone follows you around I think it still considered harrassing. The 70 mph wheelies are just crazy. There are so many places that you can do that stuff besides the highway. Something about falling off an going under a car doesn't appeal to me. Most motorcyclist are responsible, but we all have our time of irresponsibility.

Get you a work shirt with the sleeves torn off and a name tag that says, Bubba and you'll be ok. Keller is definately not the place to be stupid on a bike or in a car. It's amazing how many people speed through the small section of downtown and get busted!

He may have just been following while he ran the plate to make sure it wasn't stolen or there were any warrants related to the plate.

I guess if police can't follow your vehicle they will never recover stolen vehicles. I am sure that if people would sign a document saying they never wanted their vehicle to be checked, we could get that passed in the legislature. I have a feeling that won't happen though. ;)

Didn't consider that. Thanks. You'd think after 5 miles it would have been cleared plus he was on my a**. Maybe he just couldn't see that well. :) They do say Justice is blind (bad joke).

I Live in Keller and see atleast 2 of them a day. But i'm sure he was checking the plates to see if they come up stolen or not...because of the number of stolen bikes around the area. Just don't break the law in the five miles it takes him to run the plates and you'll be fine...as long as it isn't one of the dick head cops, because the majority of them are cool

I'm pretty good with self control. Bike wouldn't be any fun if I had to park it in the garage. Didn't know there were that many thefts around here. I'll have to be more alert.

Txstang1, Sachse cops are complete asses. I grew up in Murphy, my parents still live there, and the cops in those surrounding towns are all assholes. They have nothing better to do than fuck with modded cars.

Just proves that they have nothing better to do than mess with people. It was late at night both times and this town shuts down at 11pm. I mean hell, we dont even have a 7-11, Dennys or anything open late.

Oh yea, we did just get a Whataburger, but I dont think they have donuts.:D

Bahahahahaha!
I've done exactly that! I had one following WAY too close when I was on my V65 Interceptor........way back when. I motioned for him to pull over and I pulled off in a parking lot. I got off my bike, in my Crackerjacks, and when over to the officer. I asked if if he needed glasses or did he just like endangering the public and breaking the law by following too close.
He says, "You sure are a smartass, BOY!"
"No sir!" "I'm being VERY nice to you sir. If you were to hit me from behind and hurt me, the Navy would come after your dumb blind hick-ass in court to recover damages to their property!"
I abruptly turned, put on my helmet, got on my bike and left.................and "bubba" was still sitting in his patrol car wondering what just happened!
