And I was planning on riding to work tomorrow now that I'm back on the third shift. Hell I was planning on riding most of this week weather permitting but now this shit happens. It's a real small nail and I can't tell if it's punctured the tire or just "squashed" in there.

I'm contemplating pulling it out and see if it leaks or not. Any thoughts on this? If it does go down I do have a trailer so I wouldn't be sweating having to ride anywhere to get a new tire put on if it goes down (I wouldn't remove the wheel as I have neither the tools now have I ever done it on my own anyway).

Where's a good place to order a new tire online? I'll be looking for Metzeler Sportech M1 for a replacement soon as the current tire is pretty worn anyway. Post up any links you know of to get a good deal on Metzelers.

That sucks!
Ive had part of a nail almost puncture mine on my car(looked like a whole nail, but it was just the head and like a 1/4")
I went and bought a plug kit, pulled the nail only to find out it wasnt leaking.... :o

why not just plug it, take it up to dealership and have them patch it for you? much cheaper than buying a new one.

Well I said the hell with it and pulled it out. Came out rather easily and I checked the tire pressure and it's at 33 psi. I'll see what it's at in the morning and go from there.

Spray a soapy-water mix onto the tire where you think there might be a hole. If it starts to bubble, you have a hole.

Well fuck I pulled the nail out and didn't bother to circle it with anything  Oh well.... I'll check the pressure in the morning.

Ive had nails in all of my rear tires and I just leave them in there until they are wore out.

The thing is I've got a long ride to work (33 miles one way) and I'm working 13 hours tomorrow and hate to get out from work to a flat tire :(

I hear ya one of the nails in my other set of tires made it leak so I just threw a can of fix-a-flat in it and it held air until i got new tires put on it that following week.

I tried the fix a flat/ slime deal and it just throws my tire waay off balance. Id stick with a plug if u can jose....cuz I know u do alot of freeway riding.

My bike threw a nail out on the dyno, and went flat in 5 seconds, that would suck to happen on the street going to/from work.

Well I didn't bother to check the tire this morning. Saw rain in the forcast for tonight and didn't want to screw around with chancing it.

I'll be pricing new tires today in either case as the rear is getting pretty worn :(

I might be game, I dont do a whole lotta extended riding on the 954, so just about any junk thats black and made out of rubber will do.
