How does trade ins work on a lease?

I currently own a 2000 nissan pathfinder still owe about $10,000. If I go with a lease vehicle next how does the trade-in work. Thanks

If you go with a lease or balloon purchase, the only difference from a purchase, as far as trade, is a lease usually has a shorter term. This means your possitive or negative trade equity effects your payment more.
